A Pleasant Evolution 5

D'espairs Ray's first single since the release of Coll:Set is a very pleasing one, with three very different tracks, ranging from the poppy title track to the dark, heavy, and distorted "PIG" that sounds like something they would have recorded during the Garnet period. D'espa have evolved into a major act, but they still manage to stay true to their gothic roots. Keep up the great work, guys.

This is awesome! 5

I bought this cd a while ago and it was my first D'espairsRay cd. I have become so obsessed with them since this cd it's not even funny! I think I spent over $1,000 with all different kinds of D'espairsRay things! But that's a good thing! I love this band so much and I'll travel anywhere to see them!

A Different Shade of Black 4

1.)Kogoeru Yoru ni Saita Hana Its a very different sound than what D'espairsRay usually does. Its lighter, almost to a point of "pop", but uplifting all at the same time (sounds 'heavenly', w/use of chimes & echos, etc.). I can't really give a decision whether I like it or not. (It's prob. bc I have a bias & I like their usual dark, heavy songs.) Hizumi's vocals are just amazing. The melody kind of grows on me, especially the chorus. 2.)MAZE This song has the fast paced, heavier sound that D'espairsRay is well-known for. I like the intro to this song. Tsukasa's drumming is insane. Overall, the melody is kind of boring for me, though. Don't get me wrong, I think the band shows their talents well through this song, but I just don't find it too memorable, even though it sounds like it came off of Coll:set. However, I do like the bridge. 3.)PIG Ok I laughed @ the title of the song. But the intro is just incredible. The instrumentals, the transition into growls,& effect b/w the synthed voice & normal sound is fitting for the atmosphere they're trying to create. I like the overlapping of the screaming & singing, but the angsty whispering voice works in too. HOTNESS.

Kogoeru Yoru ni Saita Hana 4

Kogoeru Yoru ni Saita Hana is a very good single. The three musics are all very different from each other. Kogoeru Yoru ni Saita Hana is the first music of this single, it's a very soft music, with beautiful lyrics. MAZE and PIG are very powerful musics, they remind of first D'espairsRay works like Born. It's a must have. Really worth to buy.

A great buy! 5

A great buy if you enjoyed Coll:set. Maze and Pig in my opinion are stronger songs that relate sound-wise to Coll:set than Kogoeru Yoru ni Saita Hana but they all tie in rather nicely reguardless of that.

Kogoeru Yoru ni Saita Hana 5

lovelovelove this single, been waiting for Despairs Ray to put out something new for a while now. The title track is amazing, it's very up beat and catchy, something that will easily stay with you. Maze is really cool too, there's a tune within it that actually sounds like a cell phone going off. PIG is my favourite of the 3, it's darker and heavier, one of those songs you just want to bellow out along with Hizumi. Overall a marvelous single, i can't wait for their next CD. The poster with the lyrics and the card as well as the live extra were all very welcome, defintly worth it to buy this single.

Simply Amazing. Drawn In Completely. 5

Ah really. I don't know what to say. From Saita Hana to Maze to Pig. Everything's completely well done. The transitions draws you in completely. D'espairsRay will always be one of my favourite bands. This single is EXTREMELY well done. The emotion, the voice, music, melody. Everything rolled into one that will satify beyond anything when a person pops it into their CD Player or DVD/CD Drive. COMPLETELY well worth it. I'm extremely happy with it. Everyone song WILL make you think, and every tune WILL make you want to go back to it; A neverending thirst.

Amazing 5

Ignore the talk on D'espairsRay turning "poppy", this single is amazing. This just proves that D'espairsray is a verstile and ever changing band. They have come along way from their indie days and should not be underestimated, this single is amazing, filled with chilling mournful song and they still bring the edge that everyone has come to know. Buy this, infact buy both versions, the live footage on them is great, a great way to remember the live if you attended the Florida one.

AMAZING! 5

D'espairs ray is my all time favorite band, but I will not be biased. With that said...this single is amazing!! The first time I heard the title song was live, and absolutly loved it! I was even more excited when I got this cd though. All 3 songs are very powerful and you can tell just by listening that a TON of hard work went into them. This is a very, very good single...deffinatly a must-buy for fans of D'espairs ray.

Good Stuff 4

While not their most memorable, the title track has a surprising twist near 3 minutes, and the soft almost romantic flow of the song is refreshing after the harder grind of coll:set. MAZE was a staple despa song, nothing spectacular, but worth a couple of repeated listens. PIG, on the other hand, was a different story. I didn't feel anything special in the music, but the unmistakeably satirical lyrics had me smirking from beginning till end. I love the confused imagery in this song. Definitely worth some good listens, you won't be disappointed.

Another good release from D'espairsRay 3

D'espairsRay seem to be continuing the path they started on with their first full album, "Coll:set" with this release, Thanks in part to Shinobu Narita's return as sound producer for tracks 1 and 2. Track 1 is more upbeat than much of their previous work, but doesn't really stray from their direction musically. Track 2 is becoming a favorite. Track 3's guitar part is not only reminiscent of but almost completely identical to the main riff in GULLET's "persecution complex," a song from 2002. Overall, a good single.

Fantastic! 5

This single suprised me in a very positive way. I didn't like coll:set very much and prefered older works like (the first version of Born and so on). This single, however, impressed me. I LOVE "kogoeru...". "Pig" is also very powerful and great and... about "maze"... well, I do like this song, but in my opinion it's not as good as the other two. D'espairsRay are going to play on a festival in Germany this year... I didn't like to go there since it's far away and expensive BUT after hearing this great new songs I really thing I must go there.

Give it a listen... 5

I love this single. It's a little different that D'espairsRay's usual music, but it's a beautiful song. Hizumi's vocals have never been better in my opinion. The CD extra on both types (A and B) were a pleasent surprise, both contain footage from a United States live ^^.

Awesome! 5

As has already been said, "Kogoeru..." is a little different to what we're used to with D'espairsRay...but in such a great way. I absolutely LOVE the song, and the B sides are just as fantastic. I really would recommend this to any DesRay fan.

must have one!! 5

there are people who dislike this single, because of the "electronic" sounds the a-side song has, but if you ask me, I would say that it's MARVELLOUS!! hizumi's voice, as it was mentioned before, could never been better, all three songs are captivating!! a booklet was a great surprise for me ^^ very neatly done and really... let me say "pretty", and if you do want to know what I mean, just purchase this single!!
