It is a paean to having too much ambition, too much to say, to fit into a confined space, and for this reason alone it remains one of the most important capital-A Albums of all time.
All Things Must Pass [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [SHM-CD] [Limited Release] Customer Reviews
George Harrison
From my point of view, this is one of George's three best albums. For this reason, it is worthy of a good publication, in the broadest sense. This edition fully meets the highest requirements. And in terms of sound, and in terms of the original cover. Very good!
This album marks the point at which George Harrison stepped out of the shadows of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Put out shortly after The Beatles broke up, "All Things Must Pass" showed that perhaps George should have gotten more than the patronizing one to two tracks an album. Led by the hits "My Sweet Lord" and "What is Life", ATMP was a number one album in both the U.K. and the U.S., a first for a 3 LP set. To make the album, George brought together a veritable who's who of the late 60s, early 70s music scene. A line-up of Harrison himself and Eric Clapton on guitar, Billy Preston on keyboards, drummers Alan White and Ringo Starr, Klaus Vooreman on bass and others guaranteed the musicianship would be nothing short of stellar. The album is packed with great songwriting by Harrison, As well as a Bob Dylan composition and another co-written with Dylan. As stated by other reviewers, the packaging for this offering is top-notch. The original 3 LPs have been condensed to a two CD set, presented in a mini box that replicates that of the original U.K. release. The discs themselves have been given the SHM treatment developed by JVC using the 2014 remastering. Everything about this release is high quality. This set is not to be missed, so hurry, it won't be around forever.
In my opinion this is the best album of George Harrison, recorded by him after the Beatles' breakup! I bought two more albums ... but that's another story! ;-)))
Immaculate packaging faithful to the original UK release. Superbly done and coupled with 2014 remastering and SHM sound makes this a future collectible. Get it while you can.
