This album is so remarkable, and so diverse, that writing about it could take pages and pages. The wonder of this album lies in the fact that over 90 minutes of music the band never ceases to surprise and confuse the listener, something which few bands could really hope to achieve, and even fewer to have the confidence to accomplish.

First off, this is NOT an audiophile review. I am reviewing this release from a purely aesthetic point of view. This stereo THE BEATLES mini LP SHM-CD is excellent! The laminated LP cover, embossed title, and gatefold jacket are perfect, and the extras are beautifully reproduced. Overall, this release is almost identical to the Mono Box counterpart, except the mono back cover is completely white, while the stereo features a small "Stereo" label in the top right corner and UICY-76975/6 on the bottom right. The one flaw many of the mini LPs in this set unfortunately feature is not an issue with this release. The title on the spine is flawless. This encore release features a resealable outer sleeve with a blue sticker (as opposed to the 1st pressing red sticker), a nice OBI, the 2009 booklet identical to the one released with the digipak version, and an additional booklet with song lyrics in English. Also included are rice paper sleeves and the reproduced black inner sleeves to house the discs themselves. Disc 1 features a reproduced whole APPLE label, and disc 2 features the cut APPLE label. You also get reproductions of the poster and 4 individual portrait photos included with the original UK LP. Overall, a great collectable; a highlight of this series!

These remastered Beatles SHM-CDs are the best sounding Beatles CDs ever. No wonder that the vast majority of reviews at CD JAPAN give these BEATLE SHM-CDS / 5 stars. The Beatles , commonly referred to as "the white album" is no exception. 1. Yes , the packaging is card board but it is double folded card board with the usual plastic CD inserts for all of the other mini LPS. . The BEATLES mini LP is folded 4 times. They SHM-CDS are NOT in single card board , so they do not fall out easily. I have no idea what a few other reviewers bought but these SHM-CDs are not what they are describing. As part of the incredibly detailed packaging you get 4 almost 4 x 6 size colour portraits of each Beatle. Smaller versions of the LP size photos but very high quality non the less. You also get a smaller version of the poster that came with the ordinal LP. The poster does fold out. So it is much bigger the the mini LP. 2. As for the sound , again the vast majority of reviewers just love the sound. Like I do. The sound is NOT identical to the 2009 remasters at all. IT is far better. I guess that is why these Beatle SHM-CDS are selling like hot cakes. When people have actually listened to them , they get it. Get these SHM-CDS while you can.

i can not give more stars, the sound is great, better than any other release until now. of course we are talking from a master tape from the 60s and you can not expect that you will get some magic new sound on the CD, but this SHM version is the most perfect release until now. what i got trully disapointed is with the Cardboard itself, it is not a good quality Cardboard and it doesnt hold conviniently the CDs, and i am not talking from the additional booklets, which is impossible to hold insid of the Cardboard. I have seen much better engineered Cardboard Sleeves editions, probably this will be the last Beatles new release for the next 10 years or more and was not taking the necessary time to develop and assure a great Cardboard Sleeve as expected.

I missed out on this one had to pay double for it. after setting my bass and treble the sound of each recording was in full glory. I am picky how I hear my music. this beats the 2009 which sound dull without the shm plastic cover. even though it has the same re-mastering.

This is my favourite Beatles album, I think because of the diversity of tracks on offer, and the SHM-CD is without a doubt the best it's ever sounded. Listening through headphones I really am hearing things that I hadn't noticed before, and I've played this album so many times over the years. Vocals, bass and drums really have an impact. The packaging is an exact replica of the original vinyl release, including the poster and postcards. It's beautifully done. The booklet is from the 2009 remaster and is in English. The only thing that worries me is that the package is so thick that it's awkward to get in and out of the polythene re-sealable bag and that this will split over time. Now I must buy the rest. My poor wallet.

AMAZING CD! THE SOUND ON MOST TRAKS IS AWESOME,USING NAIM AMPS,etc., the sound of guitars on certain traks beets most modern recordings hands down! its that GOOD, As 1 Famous PM in my land once said YOU HAVE NEVER HAD IT SO GOOD ! As a further note my cd player plays sacd as well but when cds are this good, cds can still beat sacd in certain areas.
