Final Fantasy XII Original Soundtrack Customer Reviews
Game Music
The Music sets the scene of Ivalice and the new Stories told, the music is classic, yet modern to keep it interesting. Hitoshi Sakimoto does a great job in some new renditions of older music and has some fantastic new themes as well. A must-by for every Final Fantasy fan!!
Once I listened to them wow amazing lmao the shipping is fast and secure I haven't had a problem with CDJapan. Amazing addition to my Final Fantasy Collection
Ah, Hitoshi Sakamoto. I was awestruck listening to his music when I first played Final Fantasy Tactics which is set in the same world as FFXII. He did not disappoint in this game as well with the great music.
I have to admit: I'm not a huge Nobuo Uematsu fan. As such, I was quite happy to find that this game was scored by Sakimoto Hitoshi, whom I love from Vagrant Story. This soundtrack is a good representation of his sound, but the size of it unfortunately lays out similarities on a straight-through listen. I bought it before playing the game and wasn't wild about it; it's best if you have the game's context for the pieces. Overall, still, it's one of my favorite Final Fantasy scores, and one on rotation in my playlist.
I Purchase a lot of game c.d.s and this set is a must own !!! nice photo booklet and pictures of the main cast on each of the 4 c.d.s the music speaks for itself...
I've enjoyed this soundtrack. While not Sakimoto's best work imho (I've liked Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy Tactics and BoFV:DQ soundtracks more), it is still a great OST, with his usual style, which is able to make the usual Final Fantasy music sound a bit more darker and... "mature". Also the package is great.
A wonderful soundtrack collection which brings you back into the world of Ivalice as portrayed in the game. Get this if you like the music you hear when playing the game.
FF12 soundtrack is in my point of view, THE best FF soundtrack so far. Sakimoto sensei's dramatic and matured melodies really capture FF12's world atmosphere (as he did with Vagrant Story) and give an overall "classy" feeling. I think Sakimoto sensei and Yamane sensei (Castlevania series) are easily one of the best game music composers ever.
I loved the Final Fantasy XII game, and so was the soundtrack! The songs were really beautiful, and the songs that were inserted to the game were really matching with the game scenes. Eg. If it was a saddening scene, the music would be sympathetic. If it was a happy scene, the music will be played happy. See what I mean?
i moved by the Angela's voices.~ her new song named "this love" is alos very good ~ FF series games are not only a game in this world ,but also an stories with my life ~ good songs, good music, good story for love
The packaging of this set is simply awesome, and respect to the most important thing, the music, certainly, Sakimoto's not Uematsu, but I think it was time to print a new air to the series, so, be welcome Sakimoto-san
As far as I am aware, this is the first of the "regular" suite of Final Fantasy games (discounting all the "-2's" and the "Tactics'", etc) ever NOT to have a soundtrack composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Certainly, Sakimoto is a good composer, and he is an old hand at Square, but I must unfortuantely say that to my mind, he does not compare to Uematsu-sensei. Having listened through the score, there has not been a single theme that has really gripped me the way Uematsu-sensei's work can do.
I enjoyed the soundtrack for Final Fantasy Tactics and that of the Final Fantasy Series. This OST has a few featured songs by Nobou Uematsu. In all it is an enjoyable soundtrack
Although a turn from the original, numbered Final Fantasy games, with Uematsu mostly composing the scores, Sakimoto brings all the best like his excellence in Final Fantasy Tactics and Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter. Starting off with a triumphant opening theme, the music develops into more majestic and epic flair similar to that of Sakimoto's other works. You'll love the arrangements of the classic Final Fantasy staples like the chocobo theme as well as the awesome Clash on the Big Bridge, not to mention the Final Fantasy theme itself. Angela Aki, a newcomer to J-pop performs the insert song Kiss Me Good-Bye quite beautifully, adding to the score's beauty and grand nature. Even more, the packaging is very aesthetically pleasing; any collector of game music would love this limited set. For a whole four discs, this is quite the bargain, so don't let your mind sway from purchasing this... strongly consider it!
This is one of the best Final Fantasy sound tracks that I've listen to. I really enjoyed the remix music from the other Final Fantasy that appeared it it.
My God! This OST is awesome! Every song is very well composed, so beautiful! It is as good as Final Fantasy Tactics OST or EVEN better... I have not played the game yet, I LOVED most of the songs though! I'm Hitoshi Sakimoto fan and all of his OSTs! A MUST-BUY for those who loved Final Fantasy Tactics songs! MASTERPIECE! EXCELLENT! PERFECT!
Being both a Final Fantasy soundtrack and the latest work from Hitoshi Sakimoto of Vagrant Story fame, I had high expectations for FFXII's soundtrack. While the score doesn't have the atmosphere of Vagrant Story, or the electronic percussion rhythms of Breath of Fire V, it has excellent composition and synth quality, as well as plenty of variety. Uematsu's vocal song is good as well, as are the few tracks by Matsuo and Iwata. On the other hand, people who expect something that sounds like Uematsu's work may be cautioned: Sakimoto is a very different type of composer compared to Uematsu, and some may not appreciate his style. However, as Uematsu has basically left the Final Fantasy series (XIII will be composed by Masashi Hamauzu, again with a single vocal by Uematsu), his fans may have to look elsewhere for the style that they loved.
The truth, ONLY the inserted song (Kiss Me Good-bye)was composed by Uematsu. The other BGM are just as nice as FFX or even FFX-2. I hardly find any one that I particularly like even after I played the game.
very very GOOD b-_- GOOD MUSIC GOOD SOUND GOOD first-pressing edition packaging -------- ----
