no love, no hate 5

The song is aggressive and violent, but I don't love it as much as I thought. It's a great song when you are really mad LOL I love Spilled Milk and Obscure lives, and even I dare to say that I love those two more than Agitated Screams of Maggots.

Took a while to warm up to 4

When I first got this CD it took me a while to warm up to because it wasn't anything like I would have ever expected. I'm actually pretty fond of this song now, and having experienced it live so many times just brings back more fond memories of Kyo jumping up in mid air and screaming like the banshee that he is. The live tracks are wonderfull too. Theres this sweet spot during Obscure when Kyo just STOPS and the guitars continue wailing, its beautiful. Also in the live of the Final where the audience radiates through the background, its absolutely stunning.

Agitated Screams of Maggots 5

I really loved the new Dir en grey single. Kyo-sama's screaming is better than ever, and I love the live performances

Awesome! 5

Although this is different from most of Dir en grey's older sound, this is a wonderful single! Its similar to Clever Sleazoid, as well. And even though I dislike screaming only music, I find I like the sound of this song, because the sound of the music is good too!

Good Single 4

Dir en grey have a very violent style. This is not music that I can listen to every day but when I'm in the right mood their songs are very nice. I think the live recordings have not the best quality.

hmmm.... 3

it's ok i guess...i can't say i love it, but i don't hate it either, i guess...i really liked kodoku ni shisu, yue ni kodoku & spilled milk, but agitated screams of maggots the song isn't exactly my favorite...and since i've seen the parody lyrics, i can't help but think of downtown and rice when it's supposed to be about the daughter and grave ^^U. the packaging is nice, but i have difficulties with it.... definitely, my favorite aspect of this single is the second track, the kodoku ni shisu, yue ni kodoku live

Not their usual calibre... 3

In all due respect, I didn't exactly like this single. One look at the preview of the PV on Barks and I flipped. It looked more like some really sanguinary 'cartoon' than a PV. Dear Kyo, what's going wrong with your voice? Everything apparently. I can't really criticise the music much as it was what I expected just from seeing the title itself, but Kyo's voice...It just makes you wanna go 'GAH' over and over again. I have been quite disappointed lately with Dir en grey ever since after the release of VULGAR. Mweh.

It's ok 3

It's an alright single I love the songs on it, but it wasn't as good as I originally thought it would be. I would recommend waiting until Marrow of the Bone comes out to get this song.

Another great single 5

A lot of people say that this isn't one of Dir en grey's best singles, but I strongly disagree! It's a very powerful song, and the guitars sound awesome! The live arrangments are really good too. They're getting me hyped up for the concerts in Feb. =]

is it worth the $$$ ? 4

If you enjoyed CLEVER SLEAZOID you'll probably like ASOM. At first I really didn't like this song at all, I probably would have only given it a couple of stars for a rating. However, after listening to it a couple more times, I've given it a four. It is really a good track. I'd listen to the sample on Deg's Official Homepage to see if you like the feel of the song before you buy it.

Disgusting judging society 4

As you can easily guess, this single is to be violent thanks to the drawing and animation from the PV. This new title is not as neometalish as it was in Saku or other violent songs. But caring the lyrics you can imagine you can't write an easy listening song to talk about important fact. I must admit that the contents is quite explicit "I gonna rape your daughter on your grave/thumb" ... but it is Kyo still looking for truth and extrems. So yell, shout but don't lie. A really good song with 3 new live songs from Withering to death.

This single is certainly interesting 5

Dir en Grey has always been my favorite so when I heard this single I wasn't quite sure what to think. The violence in it is definitely a personal best for the band, and just about every other band worldwide. You can clearly feel the anger in Kyo-san's lyrics. If you don't like the song at first give it some time and listen to it more than once. You'll come to know and love it, even if it is in fact their most violent song to date.

Rage of raw anger. 4

The first time I heard this song, all I could feel seeping through Kyo's voice was pure anger. Naturally, I think many are afraid of things that are too harsh to swallow to really zone in on the actual meaning behind a heavy song. Instead of discarding the song completely, listen closely to the sound of Kyo's screaming voice. The lyrics are outstanding, and Kaoru's guitar work is very different, but brilliant. Shinya's use of the bass drum as well is fantastic. This song is angry, this song does not try and sugarcoat anything, this song is miserable and exposes a lot of society's flaws. It's in your face, and shoved down your throat before you even realize it. I even consider the 'maggot' a symbolic figurine. I love it. I can't wait for their new album release!

Stop crying 4

You know, for people who sit there and complain about music, you probably haven't done much. Rather then bitch about music, go make your own. Then come back and share your opinions like the pure gold you think they are. Is this like there previous work? No. But then again, I dare you to go back into there major lable days and find 2 albums/singles that are exactly alike in style. Bands evolving isn't a bad thing, and if you don't like it, don't listen to it.

Where did the awesome go? 1

I liked Dir en Grey at one point, I really did. Then they decided to scream non-stop and go for way my shock then needed. The title song on this single is one of the worst Dir en Grey songs I have ever heard. Pure garbage. The music video is even worse. Yoshiki needs to pimp slap these losers..

Good, but Diru's done better. 3

This single had me on a see-saw. I like it and I dislike it. I was expecting more from Diru after their Ryoujoku no ame Single, but I was let down quite a bit. I love the music, but I can do without the screaming. The lyrics are quite powerful and definitely hold a deeper message in that alone. All in all, I did enjoy the single, but I suggest you don't waste your money on this and wait until their new album that is going to be released early next year. Three stars for Dir en grey just because I like the lyrics and Shinya's drumming in this single.

VK Is Dead 1

Bands like Dir en grey are getting really lame, and all the cool bands have already disbanded. I think the Japanese music scene today is starting to suck.. music over there isn't as good as it used to be. I still love Jrock, but I can't stand whats coming out of Japan today. although I have to agree that there are some bands that are still around and release Decent albums once in a while but thats about it. If you want to listen to REAL Jrock I suggest that people check out some of the bands from the 90's . Luna Sea, Siam Shade, Rouage, Laputa, Die in cries. all those bands made great music.

Stop Complaining, This is a Great Single 4

I am very tired of people dissing Dir en grey for this single. They change their sound on each of their albums, making them a unique band. Their lyrics aren't changing either, just read lyrics from kisou, an album where most of the songs have lyrics just as bad as the lyrics to Agitated Screams of Maggots. The song itself is good, but RYOJOKU and SLEAZOID are superior songs to me. I've been waiting for Kyo to scream throughout an entire song, and here it is. Kyo's been doing it at live shows for the past year, and people weren't complaining then, so stop complaining now. Even without the vocals, this song is amazing. Kaoru and Die seem to be battling each other with their guitars, creating a unique sound, and I don't know why somebody as small as Shinya can drum so quickly and well. The live tracks are great, too, but the best of the three has to be KODOKU NI SHISU, YUENI KODOKU. You can close your eyes and imagine Kyo fish-hooking during the second verse, where there are no vocals. Spilled Milk is alright and OBSCURE is good, but I wish he actually sang more of it. If this, SLEAZOID, and RYOJOKU are a taste of Dir en grey's new sound, I can't wait for their next album.
