MALICE MIZER
Tetsu, the more dramatical voice that I heard in my life -not. But it's still dramatic <33 Young guys (too talented), making music <3 I laugh a little with the booklet :x funny pics ;D
I love Tetsu's voice. And I love this album. Nt to mention the booklets are amazing. Tetsu's unique voice brings me back to the original MALICE MIZER... and I love it.
Pretty nice album, this one. The only album with Tetsu singing. He's pretty good (voice, that is), though I like Gackt and Klaha better. The album's a bit short, even with the extra song on this DX version, but at a fair price it's more that worth it to complete your collection.
this is the first ever album from Malice Mizer. this was from the first era with Tetsu likes vocal. The Tetsu's voice is very different than klaha or Gackt, but is good with the music. My favourite tracks are "kioku to sora", "Seraph" and "Baroque".
For someone raised on the Gackt era of Malice Mizer, Tetsu's voice seems very bizarre indeed. I'm not sure if I really like it that much. Otherwise, excellent songwriting from Mana and Kozi here and a very nice look at the beginnings of a couple of Malice Mizer songs that would become staples of their later career.
It's a shame Malice Mizer has in fact come to a hiatus... they were easily one of the most influential bands of the time and put more effort into their music and personality than most any band today. memorie DX, the first album put out by Malice Mizer, incorperates the most independant and innocent sound... you see a calm and swaying romantic piece track by track, but when you try to read the music, you can see its complexity and power is that can win any listener in the end. Kozi and Mana have perfect chemistry to play with one another, along with Yu~ki (what eventually becomes the core of Malice Mizer in the later days). I give this album four stars because while I love it dearly, Tetsu as a vocalist is a real gamble. Since his departure of Malice Mizer he's been extremely sucessful, no doubt, but his style here, in my opinion has a lot to be desired. While unique still, I give that much credit, but simply not my taste. Still, if any fan of Malice Mizer has not heard this album, it is a vital piece of what they eventually became, and should not be missed.
Memoire is a unique experience in Malice Mizer's history, being the only official release from the first era (1992-1994) with Tetsu on vocals. It's really different compared to the later releases, featuring a gothic-baroque rock sound with common visual-kei vocals. Main songwriter Mana focused his compositions on melodic twin guitar riffs and classical music influences (in Baroque we can even recognize a classical tune in the guitar solo), creating a dark and melodic mood. The album was self-released and it lacks of good production, but it's still worth the money. Definately one of the most original albums in japanese music history.
I was really happy to find Memoire DX here, becasue only Memoire DX has the song Baroque on it. It was the very first malice Mizer song I ever heard and it started me on liking them alot. It's a really good CD, I listen to it so much.
The song, "Baroque," provides an appropriate description of the album; of it's mood, but also of its crisp and intricate instrumentations. Beautifully brusque, however, laced with electric guitar and truly distinctive drumming, it is unquestionably rock.
Malice Mizers first album, holded together by beautiful synths and guitar riffs. This is the DX version of Memoire and has 7 tracks and a extra photo booklet. de memoire, kioku to sora, eege kai ni sasagu, gogo no sasayaki, miwaku no rooma, seraph, and baroque. This album is amazing from the vocals (tetsu) to the music. I favorite song on this album is eege kai ni sasagu. Overall this is a great album for anyone looking to listen to japanese music.
