This movie is one of the most touching love stories I have seen so far. Love for one another, love for one's country, love for one's people. I think it is a tribute to the great Japanese culture and tradition and an example of selflessness. Doumo arigatou gozaimasu!

admittedly, i pre-ordered this because i'd recently become a fan of nakama yukie. whatever possessed me to get the ultimate edition, i don't know... but i fell in love with it when i stumbled onto the movie's main website. the movie is presented in the artistic style of japanese cinema, showing beautiful landscapes... and arts bordering on magic. i could only wish for a few more fight scenes... and a display of actual strength from the villages by the most powerful ninjas that rank after the chosen ones...

I just loved the movie, the story was so touching and at the same time very entertaining. The dvd extras were great, and the rest of the collectables as well.

Truly an excellent and amazing movie, the story is fantastic; the Koga and Iga dics, the collectibles and the T-shirt are great!

Fantastic piece of art!....Plus the collectibles & soundtrack in the box!! Such combination cant even get them in the shops in Japan, I think...In Singapore such's even rare. U ve everything.. Keep up the good work, guys!

Fantastic, amazing, beautiful, magical..just some of the words i can think of to describe this movie. A Beautiful love story a love story almost like Romeo and Juliet. Tragic. Awesome watch, the package with the extras is awesome.

I doubt this movie will come to the states, but u have to see it. One of the best movies i have ever seen in the ninja genre. Please buy this movie!!!

omg ~ i actually bought this version, eventhough it is expensive. But i am really obsessed with this movie so everything is worth the money. First of all , the movie is so good, the graphics and the special effects is not like some lame chinese movies. The story line is also quite good and the fighting scenes are awesome. The freebies, the shuriken is so cool and u can get 1 whole book about the characters which is very worthwile. So if you like some fighting movies u will like this one. For me, this is like Naruto live action :)

"Shinobi" opens with an accidental meeting between ninja warriors Gen-no-suke (Jo Odagiri) and Oboro (Yukie Nakama). The two are members of opposing ninja clans that have been at war for 400 years; she of the Iga, and he of the Kouga. It's love at first sight, but alas, they are very much star crossed lovers, and as Oboro sighs, only meant to be together "in their dreams". Oboro and Gen-no-suke's forbidden love is made worst when the Shogun, fearing that rebels may use the ninja clans as instruments of insurrection, revokes the long-held truce between the ninjas, thereby allowing them to kill one another once more. Doubly worst, Oboro and Gen-no-suke gets chosen as the leaders of their respective battle squads, and must face off in deadly combat for the right to survive. At less than 2 hours, "Shinobi" is sadly too short, and a longer running time is needed not only to explore the film's many fascinating ninja characters, but also to fully delve into the reasoning behind the Shogun's decision to kill off the Iga and Kouga. "Shinobi" more than exceeded my expectations.

This movie looks beautiful and feels very anime like. It's supposed to be based on the Basilisk manga. I enjoyed it but repeated viewings were not as good. Some parts dragged a bit and the ending was underwhelming.

This movie is EXCELLENT, the story is great (you can found a similarity with an anime serie). This Collectors Edition come with a T-Shirt in black color, with the Koga and Iga Clan simbols in both arms (the size in L ^_^), the Case design to store all the items is great, and the bonus disk have many information about the filmation, interviews and more, extra disc come with the Video clip of the final theme "Heaven" by Hamasaki Ayumi. About the Picture the locations and colors have a great combination beetween real locations and 3D locations and the SOUND with 5.1 is COOL. if you can get it... do it.

This is a blockbuster film! Get it if you like all-stars action. Original manga fans would be disappointed upon watching the film. But come to think of it, if they were to follow the manga so closely, they would follow the title of the manga too, right? If you're a traditional martial arts/action films, you might be disappointed too. But if you're a crazy anime otaku, or any animation maniac, you might love this film. It consist of breathtaking (Japanese CGI action, first time, no?) actions accompanied by speedy editing and beautifully coloured cinematography. The actors' performance were great too. But how bad can you expect from professional, experienced & huge talents? We all know about how great Odagiri, Nakama & Sawajiri could act. I would have given the film an excellent rating if only the story was better. While being intensed and emotionally engaging, the plot's somehow missing something. That missing thing is probably character development. But I'm not going to write much spoilers. So get a copy of this Japanese blockbuster and judge it yourself!
