What a Performance! 5

Where does she get all that energy? Her performance was electric from beginning to end. She slows down for the encore, but who wouldn't? I don't speak a word of Japanese, but still get choked up when she sings Rainy Day, and that smile would melt ice cubes. This show was better than any I've seen in the States, and as a result, I've ordered several more CD's and videos. If she's performing when I visit Japan, I'll be there!

A full spectacle of great energy 5

This it is my second Countdowwn Live that I have purchase and not disappoint me. It is huge, impressive by his game of lights and choreographies. A delight for the eyes and an overflowing joy that always gives to us each end of year. Ayu Congratulations You are the best. For all I recommend it.

Another Performance Not to be Missed. 5

There's really no one like Ayumi Hamasaki. And to just listen to her CDs is really to experience only half (or less) of what her talent has to offer. It's her live performances of those excellent songs that so amazing. And this Countdown Live is no exception. While this concert certainly isn't as elaborate as her Arena Tours (after all, it's only for a couple nights whereas a tour is many dates throughout the country), there's more planning, preparation, performers and sheer spectacle here than in several of your typical live concerts from other artists. The standards that made Ayumi-san popular are here, as usual, as well as some very pleasant surprises including an excellent version of Theme of A-Nation '03 and an energy-filled Bold & Delicious complete with choir. And yet, despite the reliance on showmanship, Ms. Hamasaki can simply sit center stage with no elaborate costumes or dancers and mesmerize the audience with her emotional rendition of "Rainy Day" or "Love-Destiny." It's this honest emotion and her ability to develop a performance that fits each song's tone perfectly that really makes her live shows stand out. Highly recommended.

I Loved this 5

Maybe I am biased, but I just love everything Ayumi does. This is my favourite concert of hers so far. I don't know when she will peak, but every time she does something different and it always works. Her new look in this concert is really good. The songs as usual are excellent, she is a born performer. If you are true Ayu fan you will love this. If you are new to her work, then you should still love this. For me the only bad thing about the concert is that it has to end. My favourite songs of hers are Fairyland and Step You so I am lucky as they are both in this concert. I think this concert is excellent. I will never get to see her live in concert so I just hope she keeps releasing dvd's.

She keeps getting better. 5

Once again Ayu has put her New Year's concert on DVD and once again it is great. She even remembers all the words to her own songs this time around. Anyone that picked up last year's DVD will know what I mean. That was very funny. The new songs she does sound great live as well as some of her "standards".

Awesome and Funny!!!! 5

Ayumi never ceases to amaze me! I just rcvd my DVD copy 2 days ago and I've watched it twice already! I love it! Her introduction appearace in "Step You" is nothing outrageously flashy, but the choreography and the outfits are awesome! It defenitely sets the tone perfectly. She goes into some good oldies song through out the concert (too many of the same ones she does in every concert though). I loved it more when she performed her new singles like "Fairyland", in which she and her dancers looked absolutely adorable, "Bold and Delicous", she got a huge choir to do backup vocals it was so cool, and "Rainy Day" was quiet and very soulful. She also included the same Japanese performers for "Evolution" as she did in her Countdown Live 2004-2005 concert. The funniest part about this concert is when she forgets the lyrics to "Boys and Girls" and mixes up the names of her dancers during the bridge of "Winding Road" at the end! I felt bad for her, but it was so funny! Anyways! Get this concert! Her performance, vocals, and dance moves are the best!

Brilliant way to end 2005. 5

ayumi hamasaki's countdown live for 2005-2006 lives up to the qualities of countdowns past. This countdown however, takes a new more mature turn, as evident by ayumi's new darker hair color and costumes (or lack thereof). ayumi resurrects old gems such as Endless Sorrow and LOVE ~destiny~ in emotion-filled preformances sure to have you memerized in your seat. Bold & Delicious was a great way to end the concert portion of the dvd and is exactly how this dvd can be described as!
