In 1986, ART SOU organized the first-ever large-scale tenugui (Japanese cotton towel) exhibition in department stores in Japan aiming to revalue tenugui, which have been loved by Japanese since the old days. When the exhibition was introduced on NHK, Japan’s national public broadcaster, they received a great response from the viewers.

Since then, ART SOU began creating their original tenugui under the name of “ART TENUGUI” with the idea to “enjoy traditional Japanese culture in modern life”. Currently, they have over 300 designs of “ART TENUGUI” produced by more than 30 artists. Since their products have been sold in Kabuki-za (Kabuki theater), many of them feature a design of Kabuki.

As a brand of the original tenugui by ART SOU, Asa no Ha will continue to be creative to promote “ART TENUGUI” to the world.
