Written by Mamoru Oshii and directed by Hiroyuki Okiura, this hard-boiled drama, created by the reunited staff behind "Ghost in the Shell" at Production I.G, unfolds in an alternate postwar Japan. It depicts the story of a man burdened with the fate of a beast and a woman who dared to dream of love. In Tokyo, the nation's capital, the government's heavy-handed economic policies triggered a surge in unemployment and violent crime. In response, authorities established a special security force limited to the metropolitan area. This unit, known as the "Capital Police", rapidly expanded in power. However, anti-government groups were outlawed and driven underground, repeatedly waging urban warfare against the Capital Police. Public criticism over the unit's overwhelming use of force grew sharply, pushing the Capital Police into deeper isolation. Kazuki Fuse, a member of this suppression force, has lived like a lone wolf, discarding all human emotion. His encounter with a shocking incident while pursuing an underground cell triggers a profound change within him. His subsequent meeting with a woman named Kei Amemiya leads him down an unexpected path. Drawn together as if by fate, their lives begin to move toward an irreversible destiny. It will not play on a standard Blu-ray player. For optimal viewing of 4K Ultra HD content, a 4K/HDR TV is recommended, although compatibility extends to 4K TV and HV TV. 4K UHD provides a resolution of 3840 x 2160 (8.3 megapixels, aspect ratio 16:9), delivering four times the pixel count of 1080p HDTV.
