mar maroon [w/ DVD, Limited Edition]12012Not a bad album
If I could, I would have voted this a 3.5, but it honestly wasn't a 3. So up it goes. Anyway, if you're a huge fan of 12012's previous works and hate everything they've released since their major debut, then don't buy or listen to this album. You'll just get angry and go on forums to hate on the band and people who actually do like the album. Having said that, this was a decent album. For a visual kei band of 12012's caliber, it's not as good (or as hard rock sounding) as one would expect. It's definitely more mellow, along the lines of DIAMOND. The singles are amazing though. And the lyrics to the songs are definitely still similar to their previous style. It's just the music that's different, but the meaning is still the same. Keeping that in mind, there are a couple of wonderful album tracks in here, though also a couple of forgettable ones. Those will grow on you, and all in all, it's not a horrific album as "die hard" rock fans will say. It seems to accomplish what they've set out to do, and as a whole, this is a decent, maybe even good, album. I hope to see more songs along the lines of As or powerful ballads like Hallelujah in the future, but either way, I can't wait to see what other singles they'll release.

OresamaMiyaviWorth it?
I thought that this movie was pretty funny in some parts, and there was fanservice all around, which we all love. Could this movie get any more homo? haha The undertones were like, whoa. The whole movie revolved around soccer and music, which I guess is what Miyavi's life is about. Seriously though, it's like he's drunk all the time. It's fun to watch, but wow, he is not a great actor. haha Fansubs are out, by the way. Anyway, this movie was alright, though I'm not sure if it's worth all this money. It's like a little bit of his life story and how he accepts how his life turned out. I wish it had continued a bit longer, but oh well. If you're not a fan of Miyavi, you will definitely hate this movie. But if you are a fan, you'll love it. I, on the other hand, don't particularly care for him that much, but it was interesting while it lasted. I was a little disappointed with the end, but oh well.

5th Anniversary Special Live - Arashi [Limited Edition]12012Great concert, not that great bonuses
First of all, LOVE! I love this band, no matter what other people say about how much they've changed and are different and lame and whatever. I didn't have high hopes for this dvd, seeing as how the new songs were not WOW material. Obviously, I underestimated them. They played a bunch of songs from their old material, which I thought was smart of them. I wish there was more though. And some of the new songs that I absolutely can't stand from their DIAMOND album were actually very pleasing when I watched it being performed. Amazing. That's their magic, I guess. They looked a little unused to being on such a large stage, but they tried their best, which is great. The bonus features were a little disappointing to me, but it was nice to see their history. I'd like something a little more personal like behind the stage things where we get to see more of the band rather than reaaaaaaaally old performances from when they were first starting out, though those were interesting. So all in all, loved the concert, the bonuses weren't great, but I still adore the band. Yay. I don't regret this purchase at all.

As [Regular Edition]1201212012 in 2009
A great start to the new year. Fantastic single, lovely song. A great cover too! I'm a sucker for those. And I can't wait to hear what else they come up with this year!

Hallelujah [Regular Edition]12012Powerful
Loved this single. Hallelujah and Burning were great songs, and Hallelujah is such a powerful song. The lyrics are just, wow. The song included on the B edition didn't wow me, but still. All in all, this was a great single.

Play Dolls [Type B / 2CD] [Limited Release]12012Good start
Everyone else has been complaining about how disappointing this album is, but it's really not that bad. After a couple of listens, it really grows on you. Sure, it might not be as good as their previous albums from the UNDERCODE label, but that's to be expected. Honestly, if you liked their old albums, you MIGHT like this one, but it's unlikely. Their old music is too different to be considered popular in the mainstream anyway, and even though we might hate the idea of it, 12012 needs to at least be a little popular to be able to continue making music. So for first time listeners, this is a good start for you. For the more hardcore fans, maybe you should turn somewhere else instead of bashing on them. They're trying, and this is definitely a new side to the band. They're growing up and maturing in their music.

Diamond [w/ DVD, Limited Edition]12012Different but good
The majority of the album is very well done. 12012 has definitely incorporated a new sound into their music, and it's grown a bit more mature. 24HOURS is somewhat jazzy, which was a complete surprise, but a pleasant one. The other songs were nice as well, but about 2 of them I could have done without. If you're expecting something like from Playdolls or Not Obtain+1, you'll be sorely disappointed. It's good that they're trying out a new sound though. Wataru just has to work on regaining his "screamo" voice back. It's definitely been better. All in all, this was a good album, and the dvd was very cute. I don't regret buying it at all.
