The Best [Hi-Res CD (MQA x UHQCD)] [Limited Release] [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)]Humble PieNOT Gatefold!
This compilation sounds awesome. I've never had the original LP, therefore i can't make comparisons, I only say the remastered CD is top class when it comes to clarity of sound. In their days these guys were really a boogie/rock/R'n'B band like no other. I just got some reservations about Marriot trying too much to sound like a black singer : as far as I'm concerned a weak point for the group. Two more things : the cover easily wins the cake for being the worst cover I've ever seen (bad taste as ever was one).Second don't trust the notes on the CD Japan page, it's not a gatefold cover, it never was. Four stars fully deserved anyway.

Calendar Girl [Limited Release] [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)]Julie LondonEXCELLENT
A GREAT REISSUE! THE PRICE IS UNBELIEVABLE AND THE MINI LP SOUNDS FANTASTIC.A SPECIAL MENTION DESERVES THE PACKAGING,WHICH IS REALLY ACCURATE REPRODUCING THE ORIGINAL GATEFOLD COVER. IF YOU LIKE 50'S POP/JAZZ SINGERS, THIS IS FOR YOU. RECOMMENDED!

Soon Over Babaluma [UHQCD] [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)]CanNot Exactly Perfect!
The sound for this Mini lp is really good. Problem is the back cover is not correct: the pictures are too big and the liner notes are missing. The back cover on the original lp was different. Mini lps should be just exactly perfect!

Yeti [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [SHM-CD]Amon Duul IINot a great job...
I'm not very well pleased with this reissue from Belle. This mini lp comes very expensive at 4000 yen.The least you could expect is a faithful reproduction of the original lp which had a textured cover (I had a copy in the 70s and I remember it well). This reissue has a smooth cover and that's disappointing. Maybe next time they'll do better...

Heartattack And Vine [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] < 2018 Remastering >Tom WaitsDisappointment !
This is a cheap release. It's not the usual mini lp reissue. The original vinyl release came with an inner sleeve and lyrics which is nowhere to be found in this reissue! I don't care much for mini lps with cheap prices;as far as I'm concerned I want faithful reproductions of the original release. This edition contains a sort of bookmark reproducing the cover : big deal!

Eden [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [SHM-CD]Everything But The GirlSlightly disappointing
This mini lp reissue gets close to the mark... only! I remember the original LP had a textured cover: rough cardboard (kinda furry). This reissue is made of smooth cardboard, not exactly the same thing. Other than that the CD sounds fine and lets you enjoy the nice sound of this band:jazzy with a samba flavour.

20 Jazz Funk Greats [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [2HQCD]Throbbing GristleNot a mini lp
The original album was interesting. This reissue is not a mini lp or cardboard replica of the original. It's more a deluxe digipack version with an additional cd (a live recording). If you expect a mini lp you'll be disappointed,so just 3 stars.

Ten Man Mop. Or Mr. Reservoir Buttlerrides Again [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [SHM-CD]Steeleye SpanDisappointment!
The original LP issue from Pegasus (1971) had a gold embossed cover plus the booklet (textured paper)was stapled to the gatefold cover. This mini lp reissue from Belle has a thin smooth cardboard cover and the booklet is not stapled to the cover. All in all a disappointment. The guys at Belle should understand a very simple thing : mini lp collectors spend a lot of money for accurate reissiues of the original LP, otherwise you can always get the regular remastered CD and save your money.

Freedom Suite [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [Limited Release]The RascalsNot accurate!
This is a negative review! Mini lp buyers like me are pretty fussy about replicas. We want these cardboard reissues to be 100% faithful to the original.A great remaster job is not enough. The original release in vinyl had an insert with a drawing by some band menber (a Christ ,El Greco Style)which is shamefully missing here... Why bother to reproduce the cover with the pasted picture and the silver coil coating or the red inner bag with the lyrics when you forget the inserts? Who's the guy who did the resarch work? I gotta talk to him... No hard feeling though, just disappointed.

Tommy [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [SHM-CD] [Limited Release]The WhoFaithfully ?
I recently bought the mini lp "Tommy" by Who.(SHM - CD edition) The page on the CD Japan site reads "faithfully replicates the first U.K. edition". Well... not exactly! If I remember correctly there was a booklet with pictures/drawings about the story of the young blind deaf boy.The booklet was glued to the inner side of the 3 sided cover. The item I got has no such thing, which puzzles me... Did I get the right item? Was there a mistake? Is there anything missing from this edition? P.S. the sound is really outstanding though

Crossings [Cardboard Sleeve] [Limited Release]Herbie Hancockdisappointing reissue
This reissue does not meet mini lp standards. the original vinyl issue had a gatefold cover. This mini lp is a single jacket with an inner photo-poster which was originally the inside gatefold cover. when you buy a mini lp edition you expect to buy an exact replica of the original release and not some kind of deluxe digipack edition. this time the guys at wea Japan have done a poor job.

Before And After Science [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [Limited Release] [SHM-CD]Brian Enodisappointment
i recently bought this mini lp. and it was disappointing!!! i'm not talking about the record wich is one of eno's best.i'm not even talking about the remastered sound wich is perfectly alright. the big disappointment comes from the mini lp packaging:the original vinyl release included 4 "postcards" (the same you find on the back cover). these postcards are not in this specific release! why people spend money for mini lps? because they expect them to be "exact" replicas of the original.whoever did this release did a poor job.
