The Dark Side of the Moon [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [Limited Release]Pink FloydStill missed the mark...
This is my seventh different copy of this album on CD format - from the Holy Grail Harvest label version to SACD and SHM versions. Why do all these recent remastered versions sound so bad? So muffled with little highs and you have to strain to hear the drums. It's like listening through speakers with blown tweeters. At the same time I ordered Sting's The Soul Cages and the music jumps out at you with such clarity. Are the masters really that poor quality? If you have a recently remastered version of Dark Side save your money as this will be no improvement. Maybe be if Steven Wilson remastered it???

Fragile [SACD Hybrid]YESOk but....
The SHM CD Version of this has a superior sound. I have them both thinking the SACD would sound even better. For some reason the engineers like to bury the drum kit in the mix. Save a little and try to pick up the SHM version.

Who's Next [Cardboard Sleeve (mini LP)] [Platinum SHM-CD] [Limited Release]The WhoSave your money!
The review written below by Robert from Australia is right on the mark. This album sounds like someone wrapped and tied my speakers with two wet carpets. The sound is horrible. I have three stereo setups in my house, from my audiophile Mcintosh/B&Ws to my 70s Marantz/JBLs. Does not matter, same results on all three systems. My regular cd version sounds so much better. For the money these cost I would advise to stay clear of this version and stick with earlier SHM version.
