ayumi hamasaki ARENA TOUR 2005 A - MY STORYAyumi HamasakiFantastic!
This is my favourite Concert from her. I like it because she does a lot of tracks from the wonderful My Story and they really went out on how the whole thing 'looks'. The stage is stunning and some of the effects are outstanding, the Costumes are beautiful. Ayumi shines in this, and puts everything into her performances. The only thing I'd say is that she tends to repeat the same songs from previous albums for every concert she does, and perhaps that are better ones she could consider. This is just being picky, I can't fault this DVD.

ayumi hamasaki Countdown Live 2005-2006 AAyumi HamasakiAverage
This is another one that is for the hardcore Ayumi followers. They've definately cut back less on the Stage and Costumes, this is more about the songs and her voice. I found the listing quite strange, she did quite a few older songs rather than all of the latest ones. I think that another issue is its easy to compare it to the last CDL which was out of this world and deserves the ratings its been given. I wouldn't advise people against this, but I would recommend the last one instead.

RAINBOWAyumi HamasakiPerfect!
This is how it should be! This has and is to date (2006) in my opinion the best album from Ayumi. I think its because there are hardly any fillers on it, every song is above and beyond. Naturally there are some which are stronger than others Hanabi, We Wish, Voyage and Dolls. Its interesting that quite a few people rate this low because its from this period I liked her the most. Its the time when she started finding the way she sounds at the moment. I'd recommend this as a place to start with Ayumi!

A BALLADSAyumi HamasakiCould be a great addition
This is a great addition to a collection if you don't have the previous albums from Ayumi. This is because quite a few of the songs on it are from those albums, meaning you won't be getting value for money. If you're like me and don't have those albums then this is ideal as it has songs on including Song for XX and Dearest. It also includes Rainbow which is a gorgeous song!

(miss)understoodAyumi HamasakiThis is one for long term followers!
The reason for the heading on this one, is that I feel My Story and Rainbow are both stronger albums so if you are starting out listening to her and don't have those I would recommend them! Saying that this is quite a decent album, and is a change from her previous songs. It has more of a Western feel to it (Bold and Delicious was shot in New York!) The stronger tracks would be Step you, Ladies Night, Is this Love, Pride and Rainy Day. Songs like Bold and Delicious are not recommended for someone who's not listened to her before! I'm giving this one four stars, because Step You is fantastic.

MY STORYAyumi HamasakiAdd to the collection
After the success of Rainbow, I was concerned that later releases from Ayumi might not be as strong. I was wrong, and to date even with the release of Miss Understood this is still my FAVOURITE album from her. Featuring up tempo hits like 'About you', 'Game', 'My name is Woman' and 'Inspire' these are some of her best singles in my own opinion. This album also features slower ballads 'Moments' and 'Carols' which are beautiful. The danger with some albums is that you have filler tracks, I can safely say that I don't feel there are any with this. I would recommend this to anyone who loves Ayumi, or to anyone wanting to.

BEST -first things-Kumi KodaFantastic
I admit that I was one of those people who go to know about Koda Kumi after hearing 'Real Emotion'. I wasn't sure if she would be a sure thing after this, but she has proved herself. You might have seen the recent release of her 12 singles 'Second Session' but before you get that, this is a must have. The first CD features her biggest hits to date including her debut song 'Take Back' and earlier work 'Love across the Ocean', 'M.A.Z.E' and 'Crazy 4 U'. The second CD consists of her later releases 'Selfish', 'Chase' and 'Butterfly'. I bought this version because I wanted to see the PV (Videos) for each song, and I wasn't disapointed. Whereas some artists arn't inventive with their videos, Koda Kumi always makes sure that they are bright, bold and sometimes a little shocking! I would recommend this release to anyone who is interested in finding out more about this fantastic artist, or as a addition for those who already know about her.
