Facial Cleansing Brush / Koyudo Heart Shaped Brush Series Pink / LMakeup Brush4 years worth of delayed review
I bought this little brush back in 2014 when I was obsessed with Koyudo. They are my first ever special Japanese brushes, well used and cherished. For this facial brush, it's been a great journey of 4 years so I'm confident that my now review is unbiased. Pro: - Works great with foam cleanser like Shiseido Perfect Whip. Produces tons of foam to a great effect. - Aesthetically pleasing - All natural, hygienic and hypoallergic. Easy to clean with mild soaps, saponified oils or organic shampoos. Cons: - The long fibers are floppy and not dense enough. It's terrible if used with solid cleanser like Olive bars, Banila Clean it zero... etc. - It doesn't hold water, dripping wet everywhere and generally useless during rinsing. I'd like to soak warm water on my face to feel the steam working on my pores and release the skin tension. So far, Konjac sponge works much better for that purpose. - The dry brush is coarse. I get it's never meant to use dry but it looks so pretty!! and fluffy!!! and... Nope, too scratchy. Overall, it's a good brush for the intended purpose. I would recommend it if your routine involves a liquid/foaming cleanser.

BP033 Medium Eyeshadow / Koyudo BP High Class SeriesMakeup BrushFantastic eye brush
This brush is what I consider as the BP025 for the eyes. As much as I love the functionality of the BP025, this brush works exactly the same. It provides a soft lay down of eye shadow which covers the entire mobile lid of my small Asian eyes. It also blends eye shadows together seamlessly. I love to use this brush with airy powder like the Suqqu eye shadow or Chanel highlighter and Guerlain Meteorite. That's right, I also use it to dust my under eye area with highlight powder, and it doesn't move my concealer at all, nor cake it. I need a second one!

H013 Goat Sokoho Fan Brush / Koyudo H Brush Series PinkMakeup BrushBeyond cute
Okay, I bought this brush because of its cuteness and completely ignored the other softer (and black) option. Yet the brush itself is quite soft and comfortable to use. The brush surface is huge, which I use to apply bronzer and sculpting powder. It is such a breeze to use in large areas like my neck and decolletage. Sometimes, I just want to pet my face with this cute brush and feel oh so posh ~

BP040 Small Eyeshadow Brush / Koyudo BP High Class SeriesMakeup BrushPrecision workhorse
So, I have this gripe: when it comes to line the eye rims with my liquid liner, my hand would occasionally shakes and ruin the eye make up that I spent great effort perfecting. Duh! So I try to dabble into gel and gel/pencil eyeliner. This brush gives me much more control over the line I draw, which is thin and as pristine, glossy black as drawing straight from the pencil. It also packs a bunch of eye shadow and lays down effortlessly, making it the best choice for lining with dark eye shadow. However, it's not very good for smudging the line. But as long as drawing is concerned, I'm liking it a lot so far.

BP025 Highlighter Brush / Koyudo BP High Class SeriesMakeup BrushSurprisingly soft and versatile
It is as soft as a squirrel brush can get. I use it to dab a light veil of powder blush onto my cheek bone a la Jung Saem Mool's style. It diffuses my most pigmented blush into a very natural flush. Love, love this brush!

C011 Small Pencil Brush / Koyudo C Standard Series BlackMakeup BrushGreat pencil brush
I originally wanted to replace my MAC 219 with this brush for some precision eye shadow placement on my lash lines. It doesn't transfer the pigments as well as BP040. But boy, for what it lacks, it makes up by smudging and blending layers of eye shadows so well. It is so soft, yet firm. I also like how the short matte black handle is both elegant and fitting in my small hand. Great brush for a mere $13.

fu-pa13-p Small Liquid Foundation Brush / Koyudo fu-pa Series pink / SMakeup BrushSmall. Great for contouring.
I bought the pink handle for the white goat hair. Little did I know that the white one is smaller, and thus less surface coverage, than the black hair one. This one has an unusual shape. The shorter side is densely packed and firm while the longer side is fluffy and flexible. It fits nicely on top of my cheek with the longer hair applies pressure lightly in the sensitive area under my eyes. Because of the small size, it does a contour job better than foundation application, in my opinion. When I sweep the brush in the direction from the shorter hair to the longer hair, the short one spreads the foundation while the longer one blends. It makes blending foundation really easy and quick. It is much softer than the Shu Uemura 18 H and slightly bigger, too. However, because of its small size, I'm tempted to check out other bigger brushes in the Fu-pa range. The light shimmer pink handle is really cute and sweet without being childish.

BP036 Small Eyeshadow Brush / Koyudo BP High Class SeriesMakeup BrushQuality kolinsky brush
Probably the most intriguing brush in my purchase. I was expecting it longer and fluffier as a brush designed for the eye sockets (not likely for me to have any defined sockets as an Asian, but I bought this brush to try anyways). In fact this brush exceeds my expectation. It is soft, dense, springy and perfectly small to apply a thin defined line of eye shadow around the eye rims on the mobile lids as well as double as a soft smudging brush. It picks up the strong color and cream texture remarkably well. In fact, it is so good of the size and function that I will purchase a second one for spot concealing. Please note that the head isn't pointy. It is round and fluffy-ish after wash, but still very dense.

fu-pa14 Gray Squirrel Powder Brush / Koyudo fu-pa Series BlackMakeup BrushA fine brush
I had a high expectation before receiving this brush due to all the raving reviews. Upon the first patting it onto my face, it didn't feel as soft as... my cat's furry belly. (I have an incredibly soft and affectionate cat, so my softness scale is based on him). The brush definitely gets softer after the first wash and conditioning. However, it's still not as soft and smooth as BP025. At that point, I figure out that for this type of squirrel hair, it feels softer with a sweeping motion from the side to the point of the hair rather than with a stippling motion using the point of the hair. One last concern is the shedding. My brush is insanely dense and it fluffs out after wash so shedding is not unexpected. However, I found it has been shedding a couple of hairs in =every single use=. I'm afraid to use mine too frequently and in need of a solution. All in all, a very good and solid brush for the price.
