Koyomo hana Gradation Beni Shadow BrushMakeup BrushBest crease brush
Best crease brush in this website, in my opinion. I do have some of the other highly touted ones, this gives both definition and diffusion but not too much. Bound tightly unlike some other brushes (e.g. the pink pearl one) so the hairs never or maybe rarely came out (i cant remember if they ever did). Beautiful handle, but most important, functional + multi-purpose. Can also be used to diffuse/blend between colours, apply all over eyelide --not just crease-- can even do undereye (if you want a thick smudge diffused shadow or highlight there), can also be used to set spot concealer with translucent powder. I bought it 3 times total because I think it would be the best gift.

G-3 Eye Shadow / Chikuhodo G SeriesMakeup BrushVersatile
Versatile for crease, base, outer v (held diagonally) even lower lashline... similar to Eihodo S-3 (there are reviews talking about Eihodo S-3 like it is stiff, i.e. stiff enough for lining or eyebrows!! lol! it is only cuz of the finishing cream or gel used for aesthetics, that it is like that. if u wash it just once it softens to the same consistency as this Chikuhodo brush. those reviews were made too hastily before washing even once!) except totally rounded edges unlike Eihodo S3. Deffinitely superior in functionality to the Z-5. (Z-5 would be a better blender though!) very good quality.. I love short round handles like this too great brush. zero irritation.

Z-5 Eye Shadow / Chikuhodo Z SeriesMakeup Brushbest
This is one of the best brushes possible. All over lid, under eye, soft, it is better than the Bisyodo ones. It is lush thick perfectly shaped and moves perfectly to blend and smooth out. Very soft but feels sturdy. The people who like smoky eyes will like this. The people who like simple one or two shadow looks , will like it. Can use for undereye too.

Koyomo nadeshiko Pearl Pink Blush BrushMakeup Brushgreat soft blush brush, perfect size
this is an excellent brush. i dislike their eye brushes (in this line) because the hairs come out. however this is ok, and it picks up and applies in a perfect way for natural look, which one can then control. perfect brush

[CMP510] Foundation Brush / Mizuho CMP Series BlackMakeup BrushSofter than the grade on the website
Great shape, size, softness (it is not a 5 at all, it is surely an 8 in softness!). With a brush guard or pinching the bristles slightly (just by holding there where bristle meets brush handle--instead of holding higher up on the brush handle) it becomes denser and faster application can be had that way. Versatile size as mentioned. Found it to apply cream and liquid foundations well

FO-3 Cheek / Chikuhodo FO SeriesMakeup BrushOk
I am not overly impressed with it. I've had it For some time now and done side by side applications of different brushes for loose powder and blush and bronzer. This brush doesnt really give a lifting effect easily no matter how you position it so that ends up being less flattering on the face - it drags the face down from the size and density the application isn't ideal. Stilazzi has a paddle shaped natural hair brush that beats this one, and a cheaper brush I have by Chikuhodo, Make Up For Ever etc all beat it

[MB125] Blending BrushMakeup BrushGood detail blender
Say you want to blend but just a specific spot and have more control that way. This is useful for that. Mizuho brushes are always made in useful shapes. May not look as majestic as some of the pricier brands but the point is the practical benefit not how pretty the brush looks.

Koyomo hana Gradation Beni 3-Piece Brush SetMakeup BrushSoft
So I cannot in good conscience rate higher than 3, although they are enjoyable to use, and apply beautifully. I found hairs come out of these regularly, and I don't overuse or mishandle them at all. I don't wish to recommend a product which may even fall apart (bristles falling out) within a year or two - especially not at this price! It's very beautiful, very soft, lovely, perfectly shaped and perfect density- however the fact that I experienced the same issue with the Koyomo Pearl Pink series makes me lose faith in this brand.

G-S5 Flat Eye Shadow Brush / Houkodou SORA Brilliant Gold SeriesMakeup BrushVery good
It fills the gap, if you own G-S1 or G-S2 (or both), it is the one that can apply most targeted as well as be used for outer V, lower and upper lashlines, easily. Can be used damp. Does not irritate or scratch the skin.
-
C-S1 Houkodou BZ Series Brush CaseMakeup BrushToo short to be useful
This can store the short handle brushes one may have or lipsticks. However it is Not very useful at all due to the narrowness and shortness. If it were a bit longer all brushes could fit in.

[MB123] Eye Shadow Brush / Mizuho MB SeriesMakeup BrushUseful
It is a useful shape. It doesn't hurt although the edge (looking at it from the tOp) does poke a bit if you try to use that too. I like it. Straight edge but slightly fluffy brush that fits lid very well to give detail application which isn't too targeted either. Useful for those who like to try creative looks or not jUST one simple style.

CH-SL Shadow Liner Brush (Round Flat) / Uyeda Bisyodo Cheri SeriesMakeup BrushMust use at an angle
Must be used at a certain angle or it pokes. The bristles don't seem to be quite as even all across as they ought to have been. Very strong, sturdy brush however. It takes practice to figure out how best to use it. I like the simple design of this brush.

BS-ES-05 Eye Shadow Brush / BISYODO Short SeriesMakeup BrushApplies smoothly, evenly
As with all brushes, it takes a few tries, to get a fair idea of how to use the brush best, and what effect it has. It applies smoothly, feels soft, and is a good size to cover the lid evenly as you sweep outwards. Also can be used damp.

T-2 Powder / Chikuhodo Takumi SeriesMakeup BrushSeamless
This delivers bronzer/blush application smoothly. The 'diamond shape' referred to in the prior review holds product and everything else helps blend out. Side by side comparison with a Chikuhodo paddle-shaped brush; the side with this looked more natural, more lifted, and fresh, vs. the more clumsily shaped brush. Extremely, extremely soft.

Koyomo nadeshiko Pearl Pink 3-Piece Brush SetMakeup BrushPretty
I don't know what to say. The brushes themselves are good. It's the fact that some hairs are coming out of the 2 bigger brushes. This is also the case for my flat Nadeshiko eyeshadow brush (not the one in this set). :( I hope it stops happening because otherwise this is a beautiful set. The blush brush delivers a perfect finish and application for contour (softened haze rather than stark) while the face brush is perfect for loose powder, especially loose translucent powder. It doesn't look cakey, yet, applied with this, sets a liquid or cream base well. Beautiful handles, dreamy look.

B-FD-01 Foundation Brush / BISYODO SeriesMakeup BrushSoft and dense
Very soft and dense. Applies relatively quickly, a lighter coverage (can build up but I prefer light-medium)--because the bristles at the edges are spread widely, they buff out any excess. I wish versions of this brush were available without the fancy handle, so as to make it cheaper. It is large. Some people have more crevices to their faces (hills and valleys), or smaller faces (thinking of my mom for both things), for them this would be too clunky. They would do better with wedge sponge or smaller, more circular/dome-shaped brushes perhaps. If you have a larger, flatter face, the size and shape of this would work out to your benefit. I'm somewhere in between, so this does work for me but it doesn't get dense application (more coverage) for edges and certain spots specifically. If you like detailed application, rather than sweeping, the Koyudo Fu-Pa11-b, the circular one "concealer & highlighting brush", is really good! I use that with cream foundation all the time and the result is fantastic. It is also way cheaper.

BS-ES-03 Eye Shadow Brush / BISYODO Short SeriesMakeup BrushComfortable ; not essential
It doesn't hurt sensitive skin. It is a mix of hairs, so it can apply colour softly and the size is okay. It doesn't quite apply as evenly as I had expected. I tried different eyeshadows and tested on my arm too, with different brushes including this one. I just think the Houkodou G-S2 and G-S1 and G-S3 are all better brushes than this for lid or all over base application since they are flexible enough and pick up more pigment too. It's so in-between, jack of all trades, master of none type, that I found it simply okay. It isn't so flexible that you can multi-task as efficiently (for different parts of eye makeup) nor is it so stiff that it can give strong payoff nor does it make the softer colour payoff as even as other brushes. I wasn't too impressed with the other one in this line, the BS-ES-05 either, but at least when used wet, it foils shadow well. This one is just meh, considering the price. Were the bristles shorter, may have given it more strength. I don't know. Not really recommended.

B-ES-08 Eye Shadow Brush / BISYODO SeriesMakeup BrushGreat eyebrow brush
Did not expect to like this. Tested my eye brushes out with different shadows. Used Damp this can apply eyeshadow as both an automatically subtly smokey liner or for eyebrows! Did not expect that. It smooths out edges of preexisting (pre applied) eyeshadow when used dry but not otherwise remarkable. Soft and feels like hairs are well bound.

S-3 Eyeshadow Brush/ Eihodo WP SeriesMakeup BrushOne brush wonder
Unbelievable. I washed and let it dry I only received it today. It's not as tapered after being washed as it looks in the picture. This brush does everything.. outer v lashlines crease blending and lid application. Holds colour and applies smoothly. You can blend with it easily. I'm surprised this isn't talked about online like others . It's precise if you want it to be (diffused precision) .. doesn't feel flimsy or poorly held together so I doubt it will lose hairs anytime soon. Soft too but not so soft that it doesn't do anything. It took me seconds (about a minute or two total) to do a complete eye makeup with this and The eidhodo domed liner brush to set a liner with powder. No discomfort. This needs to be permanent.

Koyomo nadeshiko Pearl Pink Face BrushMakeup BrushGood
Good. Cannot comment on whether it sheds as I only washed it once so far (the pearl pink flat shadow one did, and it loses hairs here and there sadly, as it's my favourite of this line). Applies loose powder evenly for a smooth effect, without gunking on or needing to keep dipping over and over (picks it up properly I mean). Synthetic hair cannot compare. Very beautiful handle. Good gift. Everything about it as far as I can tell, is perfectly good-- so good that it makes me worry. I hope constantly it doesn't get damaged and worn out quickly (it's so soft and perfect) or lose hairs.
