Nihongo So-Matome (for JLPT) N3 Vocabulary (with English, Chinese and Korean Translation)Sasaki Kimiko, Matsumoto NorikoThe book lacks practice exercises
It's convenient to learn vocabulary as it's divided into topics and there're some tests to revise the vocab. But in fact for me that's not enough. It's difficult for me to learn new japanese words without a text provided which would include some new vocabulary (I liked the way new vocabulary was taught in 'Basic kanji book' and 'Intermediate kanji book', that's how exercises should look like). So be ready to face the list of vocabulary without enough exercises to remember it. Yes, some exercises can be found in the book, but only a small part of vocabulary is covered there. And if you also have problems with remembering Japanese vocabulary just as me, pay attention to other vocabulary books.

New Nihongo 500 N3 (with English and Vietnamese Translation)Matsumoto Noriko, Sasaki HitokoDo not recommend
In comparison with the same book for n4-5 (it was useful to revise everything I had learnt so far, not to mention that there's no separate grammar or vocabulary book for that levels), I didn't have much use of this one. Maybe because most of grammar points were unknown to me. So I wish I bought n3 grammar instead. And after you buy separate books for grammar, vocab, reading, etc, there's no need to buy a set of tests as you'll already have test in each of that books (+ it will be easier to find explanation written right in the book).

New Nihongo 500 N4-N5 (with English and Vietnamese Translation)Noriko Matsumoto, Hitoko SasakiFast prep for exams!
Pretty nice book! Includes qustions as in jlpt, answers, explanation for each qustion (translation, reading, similiar words, some grammar points). The only thing that could make this book better is listening comprehension.

Quick mastery of vocabulary in preparation for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test BASIC1800 for N4 and N5 [English, Chinese, Korean Edition]Sayaka KurashinaRevise your vocabulary
According to the discription, this book includes all the kanji that you should know to pass n5/4. Well, there's pretty much vocabulary in there and it's all divided by themes, but I feel lack of at least some excercises for remembering new words. So I think it's good only for revising, not remembering new words. Each word is accomponied by translation and furigana.

Quick mastery of vocabulary in preparation for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test STANDARD2400 for N3 [English, Chinese, Korean Edition]Sayaka KurashinaVocab for n3
Just as the book for n5/4, this book includes just words, translation and reading, nothing else, so you need to brave yourself for difficult process of remembering new words as no exercises are suggested. It's good for revising, but for learning new words you'll need smth else.
