Street of ALICEVELVET EDEN"Cruel erotic Madame . . . "
A very dark, deep album, there's not much else like Velvet Eden's "Street of Alice". Dada's voice may not please the casual listener, but after a few run-throughs of a song or two, you get used to and enjoy it. The lyrics tell a bizzare story that is nevertheless enchanting, seamlessly fused with layered, haunting compositions. Highlights include 'Sad Mask,' 'Girl Fiend,' 'Maze,' and 'la fin' (although I don't think the reworked version of 'la fin' is as good as the one on the demotape/vhs). Overall, very excellent and unique, and while the CD is not for everyone, it's worth listening to.

Kyomu no naka deno yuugiMALICE MIZER<Reminiscence>
In their interim period between vocalists, Malice Mizer, as a trio, experimented with new styles in "Kyomu No Naka De No Yuugi." The song starts off with a creepy piano riff, suddenly kicking in to harpsichords, buzz synths and percussion. The members briefly add their heavily distorted voices to the mix, creating a genuinely eerie sound. The addition of a choir propels it to a new level, and although this single may be an 'unconventional' departure from the old Malice Mizer, it is, without a doubt, worth purchasing. Perfect for listening to at night or in any dark, creepy atmosphere.

GardeniaMALICE MIZERGardenia
The short "prologue" leads into the title track ("Gardenia"), which is a somewhat soft, layered track full of elegance and affection. Klaha's voice really soars and complements the music. B-side "Houkai Joukyoku" is almost its polar opposite. It is a dark electro-industrial track with pipe organs and pseudo-engrish chanting. The addition of the instrumentals is quite pleasant. All in all, a solid release, one that is fun to listen to many, many times.

Europe Tour 2005 - Invite to Immorality - DVD [Regular Edition]Moi dix MoisInvite
This is an amazing live performance of the ever-expanding amount of MdM songs . . . pity that Juka, and Tohru left immediately after these performances. K is a true performer, with a lot of good energy and a crowd connection that seemed to be missing from the past DVD. However, about halfway through, despite K's addition of vocals, it gets tiresome hearing Juka go "Bwaaaaagh" for every loud song. High price, but essential investment.

Dialogue SymphonieMoi dix MoisDialogue dix symphonie . . .
Dialogue Symphonie really showcases Juka's soaring operatic voice and Mana's layered composition talents. The synths, harpsichord and hint of guitar blend into a sound that personifies Moi dix Mois. Forbidden is a pleasant surprise to round out this electrifying release.

Shadows TempleMoi dix MoisTruly Artistic
The first M10M song i heard was 'Shadows Temple' . . . the contrast of the violin and guitar, operatic vocals and death vocals are amazing. And Night Breed is a perfect straight-up rock song. Short, sweet and still so very Moi dix Mois.
