KyosorokuANTI FEMINISMKyosoroku - Anti Feminism
Anti Feminism plays some really nice Discharge-influenced hardcore punk (I refuse to use the term 'd-beat'). The solid drums, crunchy bass, mind-numbing guitar solos, and cool vocal effects (some of them remind me of Kuro, which is awesome) make this band stand out from the countless other Discharge-influenced hardcore punk bands. This is a compilation record, so (obviously) the songs are taken from various demos, albums, and comps. The recording quality of the songs range from mediocre (the industry standard in hardcore punk) to muddy and grainy GG Allin type recordings. Coming from a punk background this does not bother me, but it might be a little off putting to someone more rooted in a j-rock or visual kei background. All the classics are here, including some awesome rare demo tracks. When I play them back to back with the actual Anti Feminism demo tapes, the tracks here seem remastered, but it might just be the fact that a cd has much better sound quality than a tape (my 30 year old cassette player is probably dying too...) Regardless, the whole record sounds awesome. The two new songs are pretty cool, but they certainly don't stand up to the face-ripping thrashers like "BAD BOY A", "CRAZY COLOR", or "STREET FIGHTING MUCH". This record is great to listen to when I'm on my way to a show and I need to get pumped up. One day it will blow the speakers out in my car, I just know it... Anyways, if you like punk rock then pick this album up. You won't regret it.

Chikyu Bakuha Keikaku [CD+DVD]Kaiki!! Dobutsu AgitatorChikyu Bakuha Keikaku - K!!DA
Picture this if you will: Two cars are driving towards each other head on at 90mph. One car is blasting the crustiest, heaviest hardcore punk you can think of. The other car is blasting loud and grimy industrial music. The horrific sound of the resulting flesh-shredding, bone-crushing, metal-bending crash is what's heard on this record. Kaiki!! Dobutsu Agitator mix the best of these two genres to make an incredibly interesting sound that makes me want to go nuts every time I listen to it. These guys know exactly what they're doing, and it shows. The high quality recording and excellent mixing really work in the band's favor, and the music is coherent, tight, fast, and most importantly, loud. This records rages and I'm really looking forward to hearing more from this band. I'm even planning on getting a few more copies of this to give to my friends. Kaiki!! Dobutsu Agitator better come to America, the punks here would completely lose their minds.

Screen of Culminate Vol.1V.A.Screen of Culminate
The main reason why I got this CD is because Clutch is the featured band on this CD. I am a huge fan of Clutch, and this CD did not let me down. It has one new track, and a remastered version of "Kisou" from their "Amida Kuji" single. This CD also has one track from some other bands. I was really impressed by Undetto, Warui Yatsu!, C, and Phantom. I hope to hear more from them soon. Overall, Screen of Culminate is a great CD with great bands. This CD is recommended to fans of JRock and to those who are new to JRock, because it has a great blend of music by some great bands and is definitly worth the price!

Ecumenical [Limited Release]ayabieEcumenical
Yes, the topic that there is no heavy songs on this CD has been brought up many times, but that doesn't matter to me. In fact, it was nice to take a break from some heavy songs for a change. Senjou Cameraman to Saigo, simply put, is amazing. Honey Flavor, Masquerade, and Miss Santa Clause are great as well. But, the highlight of the album is the last track, Nanairo no Sora no Octave. It's such a beautiful song, a few times I felt like crying when listening to it (a little embarassing, i know). Last but not least, the opening track, Artifact, is a rather mysterious and subtle way to begin the album. All in all, it's a great album, maybe the best Ayabie has done so far. I've owned this CD since it was released in March of '07 and I still love it! I highly recommend buying it. And when you think about it, when you have songs like these, why would you want heavy songs? 1. Artifact 2. Senjou Cameraman to Saigo 3. Masquerade 4. Miss Santa Clause 5. Honey Flavor 6. Nanairo no Sora no Octave

Hoshi Furu Machi NiteMegamassoMegamasso
Well, I took Ninke~'s advice, and I got this CD. I definitly don't regret it. I was a fan of Ryohei in Ayabie, and now in Megamasso. There are definite traces of Ayabie in their sound, but it is unique and Inzargi is a great vocalist. I like all the songs on this CD, but my favorite is "sdot initial value" This is my first CD from Megamasso, and it's good. I highly recommend.

No Feeling Phimosis
KLACKNo Feeling PhimosisKLACKKLACK!I've heard plenty of Japanese punk bands, but none of them were as raw, explicit, or to the point as KLACK is. No Feeling Phimosis, a twelve track album from KLACK, is quite decent and has songs that a true punk rock fan will appreciate. Fans of The Sex Pistols, The Toy Dolls, and The Dead Kennedys will really like this album. 9 out of the 12 songs are under 2 1/2 minutes, and all songs are sung in English. Fast paced songs like "Hypocrite" and "Oriental F**k Land" to true punk songs like "Holiday" and "Stupid is Royal" are the highlights of the album. Other songs like "Doesn't Matter" and "Die Way" are also good, but could be a little better. All in all, this is a good album, and I like listening to it.

The Ripper
Deflina Ma'riageThe RipperDeflina Ma'riageGreat! A must have! This seven-song mini album from Deflina Ma'riage is great! Kyoka's voice is amazing, and the guitar riffs and bass solos are wonderful. Songs like "Kuroiki Hana" and "Manipulate" are more mellow and depressed, while the other songs, like "Knife" and "Suicide" have a punkish sound to them. The Ripper also includes a booklet with lyrics and pictures of each band member. This was my first Deflina Ma'riage CD, and now they are my favorite band! This CD is a must have!

Geki Hana KyozakiPiassAwesome!
Geki Hana Kyozaki is an awesome mini-album from The Piass. "Nicotine" is probably the fastest and heaviest song performed by The Piass to date. "Setsudan...Kairaku" is a dark and creepy song, while the third track and the last track, "FOREVER" are slow and calm with acoustic guitars and soft vocals. A must have!

Akinazuna
PiassAkinazunaPiassA great CD from a great band!I love it, and I can't stop listening to it! Akinazuna consists of three songs: "Aki Ryuusa" "Dust Box" and "Drops." Dust Box is a typical Piass song, thrashy and abrasive with a lot of screaming. But Aki Ryuusa is a softer and mellower song with acoustic guitars and soft vocals. Drops (unlike the other two songs), is sung by Takayuki, so it has a different feel compared to the other songs. I recomend this CD to any Piass fan, or anybody who loves Japanese heavy metal.

Buriki no Kaiten Koto
moll'e nodeBuriki no Kaiten Kotomoll'e nodeGreat band!Moll'e Node is an interesting band that has their own unique sound, and I love them! This five song mini-album is fantastic! The first track and last track are and abrasive and thrashy, making it a good way to start and end the album. The second track and fourth track are more mellow and relaxed. But, the best song on the CD is the third track, "Jitsu Wa Igaito Delicacy." I love this CD, I cannot stop listening to it. So, if you are looking for a band with great sound that is very unique, Moll'e Node is for you!

Chikasen Shingen Nagashima KichiV.A.A cool DVD
This DVD is fun to watch, and the live performances are cool. I like the behind the scenes, too. But I was a little disappointed with the sound quality. I didn't sound as good compared to other Under Code DVDs. Other than that, it is definitly worth watching!

Sanoshiki [Limited Release]Himitsu Kessha Codomo AVery fun
As always, live performances by Himitsu Kessha Codomo A are very amusing and fun to watch. This concert is about two hours long and includes behind the scenes footage. Halfway through the concert, each member puts on a skit. They are very amusing and funny. The live performances are well done, and the sound and video quality is good. A must have for any Codomo A fan.

Sakura Mau Kisetsu ni [w/ DVD, Limited Edition / Type B]ayabieAwesome!
Sakura Mau Kisetsu Ni is a pleasent CD from Ayabie. "Sakura Mau Kisetsu Ni" is a beautiful song. The secong song is amazing, it's probably my favorite song by Ayabie. It combines Japanese arangement with fast rock. The live DVD is great, too. It begins with a live performance of Sakura Mau Kisetsu Ni. Then it has behind the scenes footage and interviews, and then it ends with acoustic performances of Sakura Mau Kisetsu Ni, Shine, Lapiz Lazuli, and Hinata.

cubic' L/R ock [w/ DVD, Limited Edition / Type A]ayabieA pleasent suprise
I was suprised when I first listened to this CD because it has a different sound compared to their previous releases. "Cubic' [L/R]ock" and "ainota" are very energetic and poppy, while "rokugatsu" is mellow and sweet. The PV is great, and it's kinda funny. I enjoy this CD very much and I recommend it to any Ayabie fan.

EquAL pRayer aLL [Regular Edition]AyabieAn exciting CD
EquAL pRayer 2aLL is definitly a must buy CD. da-gi-e is an exciting song, it's probably one of Ayabie's heaviest songs. Psycho Circuit and ----[eve]DiVeR are sweet, yet fast paced; while Suiatsu is beautiful and mellow. The CD extra is a really long interview and behind the scenes for Kutoi Tsuka Sasagu Itoshi Negai. A must buy!
