Set List - Greatest Songs 2006 - 2007 [Regular Edition]AKB481st Generation
It is obvious that AKB48 was in its beginnings when this album was launched. The girls - while enthusiastic - sound as young as they are and have work ahead of them. They have since proven themselves. I bought this for 'Aitakatta' because I liked the song from the early AKBingo episodes. It is also very energetic and fun. There are some other gems on here, but I could have done without the 20 or so 17 seconds takes of the individual girls. Nice piece of music history to have for those who like Oshima, Shinoda ang the others of the Gen 1 gang in their less polished skill rather then the specialized and polished groups that came later.

64 - Rokuyon - Zen PenJapanese MovieGreat movie
I have watched this movie on a flight from Singapore to Germany (with English subtitles) and really liked it. The film is close to the book and conveys the subtle humor and absurdities in the relation between the police and the press well. The story itself is very exciting, the drama within the detectives family and within the police force well caught. I would buy this in an instant, if a version with subtitles was available.

CONQUEROR [w/ DVD, Limited Edition / Type B]BAND-MAIDConqueror
Band-Maid have surprised and amazed yet again. I was expecting more of the power-driven chords - well, yes, I have seen the YouTube videos of some of the songs - and something powerful to open the album would not have been a surprise. Instead we are offered a beautiful pop-rock song, dominated my melody and Saiki's amazing voice. I did not see that coming. What follows is a nice variety of power, feeling and simple pop, given in the best way possible. The band seems to have grown, trying new venues in a playful way. SOme reminds me of the first allbum, yet better. The Master is pleased my Maids - very well so.
