13kai wa Gekko [Regular Edition]BUCK-TICKNot bad, but not great...
"Ijin no Yoru", "ROMANCE -Incubo-", & "Muma -The Nightmare" are spectactular tracks, but three tracks don't make an album. "Goblin" gets an honorable mention, but the instrumental tracks (4 tracks total, plus track 13 is just silence) are what kills this album. The other tracks aren't impressive, but they're not bad... just mediocre.

MADE WITH AIRFAKE?Makes me sad that Inoran left, but...
This album is great. It makes me sad that Inoran left, but I'm glad Ken is staying to continue to make awesome music like this. Most of the songs are pretty catchy, but the slower tracks ("HAD A GUN" & "BELLEZA") are amazing (as FAKE?'s slow songs usually are). "HAD A GUN" & "HATE IT" contain 'explicit content' (with the latter being the biggest offender by far). A great album, I definitely reccomend it.

ModerngardeMerryRetro Rocks!
A little bit jazzy, a little bit rock, throw in some raspy (often screaming) vocals, and ta-da: you have Merry. Most all of the tracks are upbeat to fast paced in tempo. Kuroi Niji is one of, if not, their best ballads, and Japanese Modernist, is their 'anthem' of sorts. All the songs are great and very catchy. Don't know how much retro Rocks? This is the epitome of retro-jazzy-rock&roll.

Headphone Children [w/ DVD, Limited Edition]THE BACK HORNa MUST Listen!
Awesome album by THE BACK HORN! Starts off strong with Tobira (the "Door") and continues through all 11 tracks to finish with Kiseki ("Miracle"). Even if you don't speak Japanese you can feel the melancholy, despair, and anger that are the focus of this story of today's society. Some tracks can get old, but 90% will get stuck in your head (and you'll be glad that they do). The promo clip for Kiseki is interesting, a little graphic at times, but overall it's good. An amazing rock album that tells it's story by making you feel the music.
