Kimi wa kimidayoSMAPJaw-dropping, Eyeball-popping, OMGYES!!!
I never dreamed that this single was still in circulation, but lo and behold, I got lucky and stumbled upon it here, on my beloved CDJapan's website after fruitlessly scouring the internet for it for absolute YEARS! Why so ardent a search, you ask? Do you know what this IS?! 'Kimi wa kimi da yo' is only the ever elusive 3rd ED song to my much-loved '90's magical girl anime series Hime-chan's Ribbon, that was only featured on the last 7 episodes. It was never released on any Hime-chan soundtrack, and as such, not too many own or even know about it that aren't also fans of SMAP. It really is a lovely song, simple in it's melody and lyrics, and that's exactly why it appeals to me so. The coupled with song 'Doushitemo Kimi ga ii' is quite different, more energetic and upbeat, and as such, showcases well SMAP's musical diversity. I like it just as much as 'Kimi wa Kimi da yo'. VERDICT: WORTH IT!! Whether a SMAP fan or a 'Hime'chan's Ribbon' fan or a fan of '90's J-POP!

CHANGE THE WORLDV6Inu Yasha 1st OP
The original opening theme to the animation Inu Yasha delighted and energized me the from the very first time I heard heard it on a burned off cd of a burned off cd. Because it was a copy of a copy, I knew I absolutely had to get my hands on the actual single, and I was so happy to find CDJapan fit my search purposes so well. I love this song, I listen to it on repeat when I'm cleaning the house just because it is so upbeat - it really taps it your energy and makes me want to start dancing and singing at the top of my lungs.

My willdreamInu Yasha 1st ED
A really lovely, somewhat melancholy-sounding song about the ever-changing wills of girls is what this original ending for the Inu Yasha animation is like. Truly full of feeling from the then young and still new group DREAM, this single does justice to the tragedy inherent in the Inu Yasha storyline, fitting the somber mood that crops up from time to time to a "T". A great ballad-type melody accompanies the sweet voices of DREAM.

Rinne no Hate ni...Animation (Fumiko Orikasa)BRILLIANT!!!
Beautiful, pensieve, sorrowful - all accurately describe this theme song from the Tsukihime anime. Fumika Orikasa's strong vocals are a perfect fit for the tragic-sounding melody comprised of mostly strings, giving it the feeling of gentle heartbreak. Another song I had to hunt down and own the single for from the very first time I heard it.

Mangetsu wo Sagashite - Full Moon Final LiveChangin' My LifeBRILLIANT!!!
What can I say? The music for this series was above brilliant and the vocals - provided by the seiyuu of the main character - were outstanding. This cd collects all the songs that debuted during the show's run that Myco of Changin' My Life sang, including FOCUS which can only be found on this album, the Route L version of Eternal Snow, Meroko's version of Myself heard in episode 46, and a version of SMILE sung by the creator of the manga, Arina Tanemura, which is really cute. This IS a drama cd, meaning there are tracks where the characters have conversations, but that is because this is the album of the concert held at the end of the anime. So it's like any concert cd, where the artist perfoms, takes a break, and comes back to sing again. Really, the spoken bits are short, and you can always skip them, because the music is so worth it.

Chobits New Intro Theme Song: Ningyo himeRie TanakaBeautiful!
A terrifically pensieve song that puts to good use the haunting voice of Rie Tanaka, and will stay with you for ages after listening to it once. Powerful in its arrangement, and a perfect theme for those moments in Chobits where you just know there is a darker backstory to Chii's history than one might imagine. The lovely cover art is a big bonus for purchasing this single if the great music isn't incentive enough.

ESCAFLOWNE Yakusoku wa iranaiMaaya Sakamoto (music: Yoko Kanno)THE SONG THAT STARTED IT ALL!!!
Along with the opening theme for Magic Knight Rayearth, THIS was THE song that stared me on my obsessive interest in the music from the anime I like to watch. If there is only one song you get from the Escaflowne TV series, Yakusoku wa Iranai (I Don't Need A Promise) is the one you MUST have ... although the rest of series' music is just as brilliant - especially the last episode's closing song, only found on the Lover's Only soundtrack ^_~. Maaya Sakamoto has a beautiful, powerful voice which shines in this song, and the melody and lyrics courtesy of the super-talented Yoko Kanno just cater to her vocals. These two together are guaranteed dynamite!
