Beautifully written and translated manual on the basics of figure sculpting using traditional methods by world renown figure sculptor Shin Tanabe. Ample details are generously illustrated in clear step-by-step sections, including how to make your own molds for reproduction of the finished sculpture. Accompanying each step are clear photographs to highlight the sculpting process. Although written in Japanese, the English translations are accurate and on point, making this book a must-have for all serious figure modellers of all scales. Cost price of the book is very reasonable too. All in all, a very worthwhile purchase for the dedicated hobbyist.

Dollybird 29 focuses on smaller dolls, with a generous section dedicated to Nendoroid Dolls. The outifts are cleverly adapted two-in-ones, showing how the same pattern can be used for an entirely different design depending on colours a d material used and extra details that really make a difference. The article on different fabric types makes a very interesting read, showing how different weights of fabric can change the silhouette of an outfit, which is especially important for smaller figures. Please note that the books are published in Japanese, but translation apps can come in handy. A basic knowledge of patterns is all that’s needed to make most of the clothes - the step by step visuals are very clear and helpful.

Another great volume of Dollybird, with the usual easy to follow patterns and interesting articles. This volume guides us through customising faceplates in the Nendoroid feature, as well as offering patterns for two types of outfits. There’s a large number of beautiful b.m.b outfits to chose from, too, which could be easily resized for similar dolls with a little skill.

This book is a fantastic reference to several Macross model kits; some of the first Anime I enjoyed since I was young. This mook compiles many Macross model kits for hobbyists and has great art and images. I did not have access to many anime decades ago, but I make effort now as an adult senior to find Anime resources like this mook for loved Anime series like this from over 40 years ago!

Model Graphic is good but quite a few model sample for EX-S Gundam. Want more EX-S, FAZZ and Z-Plus.
