Wow! Fantastic Mini LP SHM-CD! 5

I went back to my mother I said, "I'm crazy ma, help me." She said, "I know how it feels son, 'Cause it runs in the family." A tough guy, a helpless dancer A romantic: is it me for a moment? A bloody lunatic. I'll even carry your bags. A beggar, a hypocrite, love reign over me. Schizophrenic? I'm bleeding Quadrophenic. (from Townshend's autobiography) Amazing rock album, rock opera....one of the greatest album's ever created. Mini LP is beautifully recreated. Original Mix in SHM-CD sounds fantastic. One of the treasures in my collection.

The crown jewel of The Who cds 5

I was pretty happy with most of the mid 90s Who remasters except for Quadrophenia. This edition is a joy to listen to. This is proof that if remasters are done correctly, that CDs can sound as good as the orginal vinyl. I'm a big fan of Mini-LP replica packaging, and that part was also done very well. Worth the price.

THE ORIGINAL MIX, NON-COMPRESSED 5

Prior to this, you had to go all the way back to the 1991 Mobile Fidelity edition if you wanted to hear the best audio of the original LP mix. All of the other Quadrophenia releases, and there have been a ton of them, were either remixed and/or were remastered with unacceptable levels of loudness compression (see the 2011 "Deluxe Edition"). But, no more. The overall sound level of this new Japan version is approximately the same as the MFSL, so you won't get the speaker-blasting result like when you cue up the 2011 "Deluxe" edition. So, for Who purists who have been unhappy for over twenty years, the glorious day of finally getting the ultimate edition, of what many (including Townshend) consider to be the best Who album of all time, is finally here. In addition to the original LP booklet replication and the standard Japan lyric sheet, there are also two plates with the original Track vinyl LP Side A/B labels, a nice touch in many SHM releases.

GREAT CLASSIC!!!!! 5

this is a great classic and if you would like to know more about the story behind this concept from 1973 then please go back to the deluxe digi pack issue i reviewed earlier this year, unlike that great issue that gave us killer bonus demos from petes own collection, this edition is a faithfully replicated issue of the original japan lp from 1973 with an identical obi strip, this also comes with the 40 some odd page booklet the original lp came with back then, as ive stated im a who compleatest so what you are getting here is this great classic in shm mastering in a fantastic replica of the original japan issue, there are no bonus demos on this reissue, this is as is, this is just the way the album was sequenced back in 1973 with its classic original tracklisting, if you dont need the demos and all of that and just want this classic concept album in better sound then you have ever heard before THEN BUY THIS.................. also one last thing, the whos best live shows where with keith moon, the last killer who tour that took place live was in 1979 and a few more shows in 1980, after that the who lost there live magic...... i really dont think we need a budakan show from 2008, im glad that release was cancelled,
