Wow!......listening to it on my home stereo is amazing. Great SHM-CD........you can hear all the space , separation , dynamics and emotion in the recording in a beautiful warm sound. Like Jimi originally intended it to be! I'm so glad i got this......it's awesome!

The Jimi Hendrix Experience
I just bought a Cambridge Audio Azur 840C up-sampling cd player & this was the 2nd title I played on it after Zep2 and it was like Jimi, Mitch, & Noel were in my living room! Awesome sound (especially the drums!) and a truly underrated album. A must have!
This mastering of Bold As Love is far superior in sound quality and worth the money, but forget about Are You Experienced and Electric Ladyland they are no better than recent releases.
To my ears, not all of the SHM-CD releases (including Electric Ladyland) produce an obvious difference in audio quality from, say, the mini-lp cover releases . . . but this one does. I agree with the other reviewers that - whether it be due to the SHM or the particular disc mastering or both -- this version of Axis is the best that I have heard and it is readily and noticeably better in both instrument separation and depth of sound stage than the mini-lp cover or any other previous remasterings. And, of course, the music itself is both timeless and superb. Highly recommended.
Forget all the other releases, this is the one to own! It's like Hendrix playing in front of you! Need to say more?
These cd's in the shm-cd have better sound than the mini lps that came out. These are top of theline for sound right now
