MAGNiFiQUE OST !

This 4 disk set is incredible, and is another masterpiece from Nobuo Uematsu. First off, the packaging is gorgeous. Especially the cardboard slip. It has many cut scene screenshots from the game on it, and then lining the inside the box is the beach design frequently seen in the game. The CDs have some absolutely excellent music on it, and despite a few sound like remixes of the theme Eyes On Me they're still a real joy to listen to. Speaking of the theme, Faye sings Eyes On Me beautifully. I found this a bit of a shock since I've never heard anything else from her that I liked. And, just for mention but even two of my roommates love this album, and have never played a Final Fantasy game before, so this is surely for more than just fans of the series. You can even just be a fan or become a fan of Nobuo's great composing work. Highly Reccomended.

Final Fantasy 8 wasn't the most popular entry in the series here in the states, but it does have some very nice music. It is, however, less diverse in its selections than the 6 or 7 soundtracks. Several of the songs are just instrumentals of the main theme 'Eyes on Me' (although these are usually quite enjoyable) and a lot of the music (including most of the battle themes) is utterly forgettable. However, when it's good, it's great...'Liberi Fatali' 'Ami' 'Succession of Witches' 'The Man with the Machine Gun' and 'Eyes on Me' itself are my personal favorites. Also contains the ending theme in its entirety. Recommended for fans of the game and of the series music in general.

NOBUO UEMATSUsan is an absolute genius for composing game music,this collection is absolutely brilliant and original.

One of the best soundtracks ever. The music is intuitive in making you feel like you are a part of the feeling the original game made you feel.
