[Story]
In 2009 A.D., the colossal spaceship Macross, embroiled in battles with the Zentradi, a race of warrior aliens, is on its return journey to Earth. During a diversionary tactic by the enemy near Saturn's Titan orbit, enemy forces infiltrate the ship. Meanwhile, within Macross's urban area, idol singer Lynn Minmay is holding her first concert. Fleeing from the enemy that suddenly invades the venue, Minmay finds herself cornered. Just as a massive enemy hand reaches out to seize her, a Valkyrie fighter pilot, Hikaru Ichijo, appears to rescue her.
