The price is worth it 5

Red squirrel hair brushes are quite rare and it's one of the softest hairs available on the market and these brushes are superbly made and it's pure joy just to look at them leave alone using them ;) I only wish the cheek brush was a bit more dense! Anyhow, I'm happy with my purchase. I'm so glad I decided to get it on a whim and it exceeded my expectations

Very Soft 5

First off, I have sensitive skin, so I love soft brushes. I impulsively (lol) bought this, it is my first experience with red squirrel, and so far I really like it! I have other high end make up brush brands, I would say they are just as soft as Chikuhodo Z-series. Some people say red squirrel is silkier/ floppier, and I think that the red squirrel hairs are finer so they have less give than grey squirrel and therefore feels softer. I'm not a squirrel expert so don't quote me on that. The blush brush is less dense (for example probably 1/3 or a half less dense than the Z-4). It definitely limits the multi-tasking potential but I don't personally mind it that much. I think the eyeshadow brush is a typical eyeshadow brush shape. It's soft and I like it a lot--good for daily (powder) eyeshadow application. The head of the eyeliner brush is tiny (even smaller than Rae Morris chiseled smudger #12). I think it is still useful and unique in my collection for more precise application. Overall the quality is great.

Very soft and functional! 5

I love these brushes. The blush brush is not as fluffy as I expected but when I used it with my Tom Ford duo blush it picked up just the right amount to give me a beautiful natural look. I can also just use the tip of the brush to highlight the top of my cheeks. The eyeshadow brush is very soft and wonderful to use and there was no fallout from my eyeshadow. The eyeliner brush was great for lining the bottom lashline and detail work.

Very soft brushes 4

My first red squirrel brushes. Until now all my eye brushes were stiff synthetic ones. They didn't grab, distribute or blend very well. No comparison to these squirrel brushes. For the first time my eyes are not puffy or watery after applying eye shadows, and I am able to apply powder eye shadow along the upper lash line with ease. The two eye brushes grab, distribute and powder eye shadow very well. The blush brush grabs just the right amount of colour and leaves subtle colour on the cheeks, which I like. I was tempted by the Canadian red squirrel blush brush - it looked denser, but in the end the cost won. I am giving it 4 stars because I am not comparing red squirrel brushes with red squirrel brushes.

Fantastic brushes! 5

I'm glad I bought this set. Red squirrel hair is softer than gray squirrel and more delicate to very sensitive skin. Blush brush and eyeshadow brush pick up the product well, but only when it's not very hard pressed, if you know what I mean. I bought the smallest brush only because it was in set, but surprisingly I use it very often and I like it's softeness for my sensitive eyelids :-)

Soft and elegant with some problems 4

Let me just say that this is without doubt the SOFTEST set of brushes I own. Then again, I do not have any other red squirrel brushes. I love to massage the cheek brush over my face! Plus the packaging was REALLY cute and well put together. A++ there. Cheek brush: VERY soft with long-ish hair. Lacks density and has little to no spring or bounce. It's quite floppy so it doesn't work the best as a cheek brush imho. I guess it's most appropriate for a highlighter. I wish it was denser. CDjapan should consider making a denser version of this and it would be perfect. Eye shadow brush- My favorite of the entire set. Densely packed, nice point, extremely soft and efficient. I don't have the koyudo bp033 but many are comparing the two. Only thing that's weird is that I have a lot of splayed hairs on this one (25+) and it hasn't been washed (Came right out of the box like this). They are fanned out away from the general direction of most of the other hairs.. I don't know if they were roughened up or if mine is kind of bad. For the price, I wasn't expecting that. Eyeliner brush- I haven't tried yet... it seems TOO floppy for eyeliner. This one again has 3 or 4 splayed hairs which isn't nearly as bad as the eye shadow brush. But I imagine you could really work a nice smokey eye liner using powder shadow. Overall: All brushes have great potential and are good value for the type of brushes they are. They are elegantly assembled and look expensive which I love. Only things I really dislike are the check brush lack of density and eye shadow brush's splayed hairs.

Red Squirrel 3-Piece Brush Review 4

I am extremely happy about this set. It has so far exceeded my expectations. The Cheek Brush is nice but not too dense - I think I'll use it as a highlighter brush and the shadow brushes are quite unique. The smaller I will probably use for the outer V and the regular eye brush would be great to lay down shadow. It certainly has enough spring to grab and hold pigment. The box it came in is also lovely. Different lettering as the Koyudo but essentially the same style. Go for it! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Amazing Luxury Brush Set 5

When I got this set it was the first time experiencing Red Squirrel hair in a makeup brush. It was love at first touch. I already own a lot of grey/blue squirrel hair brushes but having had this set for about a week and playing with them quite a bit lately, I definitely can say these are some of the softest brushes I own. The blush brush is just the right size for me to apply blush (I prefer smaller cheek brushes). The 2 eyeshadow brushes are fantastic - 1 small detailer brush, which I use in many different ways from smudging out liner to detailed inner and outer corner work on the eyes - 1 medium sized eyeshadow brush that has a good shape to make it multi useable. Good to pack on eyeshadows on to the lids as well as precise blending work. If you have sensitive eyes or if you enjoy good quality makeup brushes this set is a must have. All in all, I cannot praise these brushes enough. The quality of this set definitely exceeds the expectations considering the price tag! Even though they are not the densest brushes I own I am utterly in love with this little set of 3 brushes.

Incrediby soft and silky! 5

I've had this brush set for a couple of weeks now. These Red Squirrel brushes are well made and hands down the softest and silkest brushes I own! I love using the eyeliner brush for smudging the lower lash line and depositing intense colours along the crease. The cheek brush is amazing - feels like the softest whisper against the skin. It's pure joy using these brushes. Perfect for people with very sensitive skin.

Red Squirrel 3-pc set 4

I bought this set because I already own 3 other red squirrel brushes ( Koyudo and Tanseido) and like them all very much. I prefer red squirrel hair for my sensitive skin. The cheek brush is very similar to Koyudo red squirrel cheek brush that was released in the past (I own one from the second release), just a little more tapered and a little more resilient. It feels silky soft and picks up powder, blush and bronzer very well. It does not have the blending power of goat hair but for me that is not a problem. The eye shadow brush is the same shape and density as the Koyudo BP033 brush - same efficiency but even softer/silkier. The eyeliner brush is also very nice, I use it for depositing eyeshadow around my liquid eyeliner line, I have not used it for eyeliner itself since mine has its own in-built brush. I have had this set for over a week and used it every day. The reason I gave it 4 stars is the price, I wish this set was more affordable. For people with not sensitive skin it may be more cost- efficient to buy grey squirrel brushes instead.

I love this set. 5

I had high hopes for this as I own the original Koyudo Red Squirrel and the Yakusugi set and it did, in fact, live up to my expectations and more. I love red squirrel hair as it's the silkiest type out there. The blush brush isn't as dense as my other two RS brushes, but it's wonderful for highlighters. The small e/s brush is awesome with darker colors and precise placement of said colors. The large eyeshadow brush is the MOST FANTASTIC brush for applying color in the crease . It's my favorite and I've been using it daily since I received it and I have many, many brushes to choose from. I wish the large e/s brush would be released individually so I can own a few. Please CDJapan, please release this brush by itself.

Red squirrel hair is excellent 5

The hair is much softer than the gray squirrel I owned before. You can hardly find this type of brush hair in the other brands. I really recommend you to owe at least one set of such brushes. I also hope that CD Japan can provide more different precious hair brushes for sale!
