Tafel Anatomie Live was an excellent DVD to watch. Some of D's performances were just so awesome - favourites for me were "Yami Yori" (etc etc), "Glow in the Sun", "Leukocyte", and "Humanoid". Their use of props and their stage performance is just so creative and interesting, I love it! For example - the "Night Ship D" & "Fanfare" songs, where the whole audience is involved, doing choreographed flag movements. However, I much prefer their second live DVD (Follow Me ~ Live Indies) - they have developed much as musicians and their stage presence has improved. This DVD a must for any true D fan.
D is one of the more heavier bands in the visual kei genre, playing more "metal" than "rock". The singer frequently uses his beautiful voice rather than grunting, something I think many people would support. The picture and sound quality is perfect. The stage looks nice, and the band wears black and dark-themed costumes. I'm not overly familiar with their music, but I haven't heard a bad song on the DVD. This is a good live DVD by D, and I'll certainly be buying their next when it is released.
Most people are wondering, wow, can Asagi really sing like that live? This DVD will convince you, people. HE DOES THE FALSETTO IN "Yami Yori Kurai Doukoku No A CAPELLA To Bara Yori Akai Jounetsu No ARIA" WONDERFULLY. That alone was worth buying this DVD, but all the other songs are just as good, making this DVD the perfect way to send any hardcore D or Asagi fan into convulsions of joy.
Great live... I went to D's concert in Nagoya and was amazed at how good they are. HIDE-ZOU, Ruiza, Hiroki and Tsunehito are awesome (and they do give us a bit of fan service...hehe). Asagi is Asagi so no need to go there... but I do have to say his voice live sounds... strange... live I like the other members better... (specialy Ruiza and Tsunehito). I was very surprised at the high quality of the band... they play really well. The DVD transmits all the energy they give at lives... I definitely recommend it...
The DVD is quite short and some songs have been deleted, but the live material is simply amazing! The band plays live as good as in studio recordings and everyone is really active on stage. The songs from Tafel Anatomie found a new dimension in concerts and there are also few masterpieces from The Name of the Rose and the mini albums. The DVD production is also quite good for an indie release: it almost felt like standing in front of them at Shibuya Kokaido!
Ruiza is an amazing preformer. He stole the show entirely. D preforms with a level of proficiency that few visual bands do. Its a must have for any fan of the band.
