I really enjoyed this DVD. Although it's just in Japanese, I understood it to an extent and fell in love with it. I especially loved the 100-year-old Edward Elric!

Animation
If you were deep interested and amazed about the characters of the Hagaren's world, this dvd-video is a must, even if the script of these OVAs does make the original series full of plotholes. Anyway, it doesn't matter because the main reason of this release is to make us laugh and leave all the seriousness of the movie behind (though, I'd really want to see more of FMA). The Chibi OVA and the Al live action are the main ones of my taste (the cute drawings are simply so cute!), the State Alchemists and Homunculus fight was also terrific (the special effects and the transmutations circles, specially the last one hehehe). The art is as beautiful as always has been! And I hope to see more unreleased stuff being released ^^
Although my japanise is very poor I found this OVA series just hilarious, it made me laugh even without understanding much of the dialogue there, the situations themselves are funny I swear! Specially if you're a great Hagaren fan as myself, you should buy it immediately.
I like the short cartoons that come with this DVD, especially the Chibi-short where almost all the characters show up in Chibi-form (it was hilarious). There aren't any subtitles but still I can understand the funny stuff. I also enjoyed watching the action scenes of the original Alchemists vs. The Seven Homunculus.
Really fun to see the 'unreleased' fotage and all the new sceens of the series! A great buy!
You might find yourself questioning whether or not you should buy this disc; after all, the OVA shorts are quite... well, short. But I can assure you that it's definitely worth a purchase. Each of the shorts brings something different to the table. One is a poignant story with a surprise twist; one features gorgeous animation and plenty of action; one is made up entirely of chibi-packed, crack-tastic comedy. Just watch out for spoilers--you'll want to be familiar with the rest of the FMA canon before viewing this, or it won't be as funny or meaningful. I really loved the DVD and felt that it was a worthy addition to the animated FMA oeuvre.
For the majority of the world, this is the only place you'll ever get to see officially-produced Fullmetal chibis, live-action Al's adventure (including the crew who had to move him around!), an alternate storyline in which the homunculi have an all-out battle with the State Alchemists, and some great illustration galleries intruduced by Lt. Jean Havoc for Col. Mustang. While many of the references in the shorts rely on knowledge solely from the TV series, there are a number of things which relate directly to the movie (including the entire chibi short), so make sure you're up-to-snuff on your Alchemist knowledge before diving into this funfilled, ecclectic DVD.
