Yumi Yoshimura ( Born: Jan. 30, 1975)

In 1996, Puffy made a splashing debut with the single "Asia no Junshin" produced by Tamio Okuda (ex-Unicorn). This was followed by successive hits such as; "Korega Watashi no Ikiru Michi," "Circuit no Musume," "Nagisa ni Matsuwaru," and more. Ami and Yumi's casual style of jeans and t-shirt, as well as their original "puffy" hairstyles became a trademark look, much adored by fans.

They secured their star status as hosts to TV Asahi Network's talk show, "Pupupupu Puffy." Since then, Puffy has released CDs in Taiwan, Hong Kong, the US, and Canada. In 2002, they went on a Northern America tour, and were picked up by New York Times. In 2003, the album "Nice" was released in the US and Canada. Viewers of the hit anime "Teen Titas" airing on the Cartoon Network, may recognize Puffy as the duo behind its theme song. November 19th, a live-action & animated show, "Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi" starring them have captured top ratings on the Cartoon Network. Ads can be seen on New York buses and train stations all over. Yumi and Ami, who recently made a visit to America, are completely caught off guard by the hype, stating that living in Japan they had no idea things had gotten so big!

On a side note, both Yumi and Ami made headlines when they each married to equally famous artists: Yumi to Takanori Nishikawa (T.M.Revolution), and Ami to Glay's vocalist, Teru.
