Debuting back in 1984, the Transformers spawned many sequels, a theatrical movie, toys, and comic serials. In spite of all our heroes (and villains) being robots, the Transformers animated shows incorporate dynamic action dramas which are basically about good old fashioned story-telling, one involving the struggle of good vs. Evil. It's also one of the first animated shows to become successful on both sides of the Pacific (U.S. and Japan) at the same time. It's latest installment, "Transformers: The Micron Legend (Micron Densetsu)" premiered in January 2003 on TV in Japan.
