Studio Gainax, the makers of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and "FLCL" presents Gunbuster 2 in commemoration of its 20th Anniversary!
Director Kazuya Tsurumaki, supervisor Hideaki Anno, and charcter designer
Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, have joined forces to create this long awaited masterpiece of OVA.

It has been 16 years since Gunbuster 1 was first released. No doubt the directors and producers had their hands full, what with the generation gap of the audience who first fell in love with the Gunbuster 1, and the younger audience who know it only as a classic legend. Yet the finished product exceeds all expectation, and audiences are sure to be left wanting more! Afterall, this is only Volume 1 of Volume 6!

< Story >
The war between mankind and Uchuu Kaiju (space monsters) still continues to this day...
As Uchuu Kaiju (space monsters) gain more power and attack Earth, mankind's last hope rests on a group of children with supernatural powers called "TOPLESS." Armed with their Buster Machines, they form the fighter crew "fraternity."
Nono, who left her countryside home with dreams of becoming a space force pilot, is a clumsy waitress at a diner near space port. There, she meets Raruku, the best TOPLESS Buster Machine pilot. Nono instantly adores her as her "Oneesama" (senior sister) and together, with teammates Nicola and Chiko, they fight to retrieve their homeland.
