Uchu no Stellvia (Stellvia in Space)

< Story >
In the year 2176 A.D., the solar system was subjected to a cosmically intense radiation and electromagnetic wave which caused vast disasters on Earth. The phenomenon was caused by a star twenty lightyears away from the solar system which went supernova.

This was only the beginning... It has been determined that high-energy plasma from the exploded star pieces would reach the solar system within 180 years at the 0.1 speed of light.
It is the year 2356 A.D. The human race has built enormous space bases called the "foundations" on Earth, Mars, Venus, Saturn and Jupiter. The one on Earth is called "Stellvia."

The show depicts the adventures of young cadets who enter the space pilot training school there with one common goal... to defend the solar system and planet Earth against the cosmic disaster and subsequent shock wave.

- Production Crew -

Director Tatsuo Sato previously worked on "Martian Successor Nadesico" and "Muryou."
Characters were designed by Makoto Uno of "Love Hina".
Other works by animation studios Xebec ("Terrestrial Defense Corp. DAI-GUARD", "Megami Kouhosei") and Starchild ("Shaman King", "NEON GENESIS EVANGELION").

Intro and outro themes are performed by Angela, a unit comprised of vocalist Atsuko and guitarist Katsu. Among other things, they did a song for the Xbox game "Phantom Crash," as well as songs for television commercials and TV shows.
