- Story -
In the wasteland of the post-apocalyptic
earth, the polluted water has turned entirely
toxic, except for some supply kept safe in a reservoir.
A band of roving thugs led by ruthless
Sanga has created a fortified zone, calling it the
Lastland, and has taken over control of what's
left of civilization. Needless to say, they have seized
all the safe water from the people who guarded it.
Furthermore, Sanga's greed knows no bound, and
he has become a self appointed god by kidnapping Sarah,
a woman with the power to heal wounds with her fingertip,
and Doha, a man who generates water using his fists.Meanwhile, a group of villagers has found a new source of safe water, but because of that they have become the latest victims of Sanga's bloodthirst.
The massacre of the villagers by Sanga's men continue when a mysterious fighter materializes right in front of them. His name is Kenshiro, and he is an enlightened martial artist and a one man army who can tear down power-hungry Sanga's dominion of the land and the falsehood of his deity once and for all.

- Production Crew -
"Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star)" is back after 15 years. This time around, the show is based on the novel "Hokuto no Ken - Jubaku no Machi" which was published in 1996. The original Hokuto no Ken comic books sold over five million copies, and the brand new version of the manga has sold over 300,000 copies already.
Takehito Koyasu plays the voice of Kenshiro. The popular voice actor has previously performed in some of the best known animes, including "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED," "Get Backers," and "Weiss Kreuz."
The main themes are performed by rock superstar Gackt, who is a self-confessed fan of ""Hokuto no Ken." His maxi single "Luna/Oasis" congtains both the intro and outro theme songs. In addition, he performs the voice of a character named Seiji.
