- Story - Several hundreds years into the future, the progress of human civilization is at a standstill. Having depleted the natural resources, the humankind has reconstructed the world by dividing it into small "units" composed of cities. Unit 74, also called Unit Blue, is one such city. A boy named Hajiki Sanada lives in Unit Blue working as a courier. The section of the town where he lives is called "Night Town," so called because the electric power is shut off at midnight to conserve scarce energy supplies. One day, while working to deliver a package, Hajiki inadvertently comes in contact with a mysterious material inside the package. Upon his contact with the material - called GAD - it transforms into a gigantic humanoid mecha, Tekkodo as he watches in amazement. He finds out that there are others who possess Tekkodo, the humanoid mecha. As he learns that his Tekkodo is named "Lightning," he realizes the individuals who pilot the humanoid mechas do it for different reasons, to each his/her own. The show depicts the struggles among those who pilot Tekkodos, and their adventures. |
