Welcome to the near-future world of "Ergo Proxy," a place where humans and robots live side-by-side in a paradise named Romudo. Thanks to strict control from the central managing agency humans are able to live the lives of their dreams--lives so perfect as to make emotions useless.

"Ergo Proxy" is the latest series from "Samurai Champloo" and "Genesis of Aquarion" creators manglobe. Continuing the precedent set by "Samurai Champloo," "Ergo Proxy" sees director Shukou Murase ("Witch Hunter ROBIN") and writer Dai Sato ("Cowboy Bebop") joining manglobe to create another stylish achievement in the anime genre. This time the team has penned a graphic and detailed cyberpunk psycho-suspense tale.

Something is bubbling under the lid of control in Romudo, and Lir Mayer is charged with figuring out what. A string of vicious murders now blot the crimeless record of Romudo, a virus called "cogito" is infecting the town's autoraves--androids--with the ability to throw off the control of their masters, and to prevent the town's citizens from realizing that control is quickly dripping away from their fingers, the intelligence agency is pursuing a massive cover-up. Lir has already been caught in the middle of the investigation when she receives a visit from a call from a mysterious entity known as a "proxy."
