Description

[Machine Translation] The stage "Snake Princess", in which USA of EXILE took on the challenge of a grand underground play, is now available on DVD! This is the second revival of the play that was first performed 30 years ago, written by Juro Karo and directed by Shigemichi Sugita, a powerful tag team! The heroine is Sayaka Yamaguchi, who has been highly acclaimed in the works of Hideki Noda, Yukio Ninagawa, Hidenori Inoue, and others. She has also appeared in a number of variety shows, including "Gaki no Tsukasa ya Aahenden! The three intertwine perfectly to create a tense and powerful performance. --The play is set in a town at the end of the Korean War. Only a wall with the sea painted on it remains after a public bathhouse has been reduced to rubble. Strangely enough, at the barbershop next to the bathhouse, the funeral of Denji, the owner of the bathhouse, is being held with a lively atmosphere. Akebi, a female pickpocket, meets Kobayashi, a young man in the same profession, and they hit it off as fellow pickpockets. When Akebi sees the bruise on his right arm, she declares to Kobayashi: "It's not a bruise, it's a snake. Akebi, upon seeing the bruise on his right arm, declares to Kobayashi, "It's not a bruise, it's a snake scale. I am indeed a snake princess.

EXILEのUSAが、壮大なアングラ演劇に挑んだ舞台「蛇姫様」がDVD化!! 30年前に一度開かれた公演から二度目の再演となる今作は、作・唐十郎×演出・杉田成道の強力タッグ!! ヒロインには野田秀樹、蜷川幸雄、いのうえひでのり、などの作品で実力が高く評価されている山口紗弥加。また『ガキの使いやあらへんで!!』などのバラエティー番組で活躍中の藤原一裕(ライセンス)が『明日君再来(イツノヒカキミカエル)』以来の舞台出演。3人が絶妙に絡み、緊張感と迫力のある演技を表現した。 ――舞台は、朝鮮戦争の終わったころのとある町。瓦礫となった銭湯のあとに、海の描かれた壁だけが残っている。奇妙なことにその隣の床屋では、主人伝次の葬式がなぜか賑やかに盛り上がっていた。そこへ登場した女スリあけびは、同業の青年小林と出会い、スリ仲間として意気投合する。そして右腕のあざを見られたあけびは小林にこう宣言するのだ。「ここにあるのはアザじゃない、蛇のウロコさ」「じゃ、あんたは蛇姫様かい?」「いかにもわらわは蛇姫様じゃ」・・・。
