Description

[Machine Translation] The story depicts the checkered life of Nakatomi Kamatari, a rare genius who accomplished the Taika no Kaihin (Taika Reformation). --The Asuka Period---The school opened by the monk Imin, who returned from Tang Dynasty where he had been studying. Many children of aristocrats gathered at the academy opened by the monk Imin, who had returned from Tang Dynasty China where he had studied, to learn the latest continental culture and learning brought back by Hoshi. Among them, there were two young men who would later shake the times. One was Soga Iruka, the eldest son of the Minister Soga Ezo, who later succeeded to the position of Minister. The other was Nakatomi Kamatari, who was to defeat Iruka in the Otomi Incident. Kamatari was born into the Nakatomi clan, which served as a Shinto priest from generation to generation. He was unwilling to undergo the training imposed on him by his father, Mikakuko, and always wanted to escape from a life dominated by birth and live as he wished. Kamatari is constantly in conflict with his father and is depressed. His childhood friend, Kurumamochi Yoshikorojo, encourages him to be strong rather than cry. One day, Kamatari was saved by Soga Iruka (Kuramatsuku) when he was fighting with the scholars who were displeased with him. Iruka told Kamatoku, who was angry with the current world, that he should change the world, and that he would become a minister for that purpose, which was his "aspiration. Iruka's words struck a chord in Kamatari's heart, and it was the moment when the "aspiration for reformation" that would lead him in the future sprouted in his heart.
