Description

Shinsengumi existed for only six years at the end of the tumultuous Edo period. How did they make their mark on history? Director Masato Harada has completely adapted Ryotaro Shiba's historical novel to film. The main character, Toshizo Hijikata, is played by Junichi Okada. The film co-stars Ko Shibasaki, Ryohei Suzuki, Ryosuke Yamada, and Hideaki Ito, all of whom are superb in both name and reality. Plot: The story is about Toshizo Hijikata from Tama, Bushu, who forms the Shinsengumi to protect the city of Kyoto with his comrades Isamu Kondo and Soji Okita. As deputy chief, Hijikata leads the organization with exceptional skill and strict laws and regulations, and the Shinsengumi is active on all fronts in suppressing the forces of the overthrowing shogunate. Hijikata and Oyuki are destined to meet and be attracted to each other, but they are plunged into a period of turmoil. Booklet enclosed.

There are 6 region codes. Typically, DVD players sold in one region is compatible only with DVD titles that are encoded for that region.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.
