Description

The live action film based on the legendary boxing manga "Tomorrow's Joe (Ashita no Joe)" comes out on Blu-ray! Stars Tomohisa Yamashita (NEWS), Yusuke Iseya, and Karina. Directed by Fumihiko Sori of "Ping Pong." Premium edition includes a bonus DVD with making-of, event footage, talk by casts, interviews, and more. Also includes a booklet. Plot: Set in the 1960's, Joe Yabuki lives in a savage low-income ara. One day, alcholic ex-boxer Danpei Tange notices Joe Yabuki's talents as a boxer and tries to train him to be a professional boxer. However, Joe is later arrested and goes to the youth detention center. In the youth detention center, Joe meets his future rival Rikiishi, who is a champion caliber professional boxer, and is completely knocked out. After getting out of the center, he gets special training from Danpei Tange and becomes an elite boxer and famous for a devastating cross counter. On the other hand, Rikiishi finally gets his shot at the world championship belt, but before that, he wants a match with Joe. The two boxers enter the ring. . . *The DVD disc is encoded for region 2 (Japan, Europe, and Middle East), and no subtitles are included.
