Since its premiere by the Yume no Yumensha theater company, the magnificent play with the essence of Ango's works scattered throughout the play and its bewitching and overwhelmingly beautiful world have captured the hearts of many audiences, and there are always requests for the play to be performed again. This legendary play has finally been reborn as a Kabuki play, written and directed by Hideki Noda himself, with a diverse cast including Kankuro Nakamura, Koshiro Matsumoto, Shichinosuke Nakamura, Senjaku Nakamura, and Yajuro Bando. --A deep, deep forest of cherry blossoms. The time is the reign of Emperor Tenchi. Three masters of the art of Hida are gathered under the king of the Hida royal family. Their names are Mimi Otoko, Manako, and Oama. The King of Hida orders the three to compete with each other to carve Buddhist statues to protect his daughters, Princess Yonagatohime and Princess Hayanami, but in fact, each of the three has concealed their true identities and lied about their master status. The three were given three years to compete, until the New Year when Princess Yonagahime would be 16 years old. Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.
