Description

A heartwarming fantasy about a cat and a woman's rebirth. Erika Sawajiri stars in her first leading role in 6 years since "Helter Skelter"! The film delicately expresses the frustration of a woman who doesn't like herself and can't live her life the way she wants to. She also dances and sings with the idol group "Sunny's", breaking new ground as a performer. The cast is also notable for its rich personalities, including Ryo Yoshizawa as Yoshio, an anthropomorphic cat; Kazunobu Mineta as Van Gogh, a painter who influences the main character; and Comai, vocalist of Wednesday's Campanella, as Kiiro, a stray cat! The film was directed by Isshin Inudo, who has worked in a wide range of genres including "Maison de Himiko", "Josee, the Tiger and the Fish", and "Nobo no Shiro". The screenplay was written by Ryo Takada, who also wrote the screenplay for "Sokonomi de Hikari Shine". The two directors of the TV drama "Gugu datte neko de aru" (Gugu is a Cat) have teamed up again for this film. --Saori (Erika Sawajiri) has become accustomed to a life of resignation, unable to become the person she thought she wanted to be. The only person she can open her heart to is Yoshio ( Ryo Yoshizawa ), a Russian blue cat. As Saori cuddles with Yoshio, he believes that he is Saori's "human lover". One day, an unsuccessful painter, Tamotsu Goto ( Kazunobu Mineta ), who is called "Van Gogh", appears in front of Saori and changes her daily life. On the way to Saori's house, Yoshio gets lost and ends up at "Nekosutebashi", a place where stray cats gather... Can one man and one cat find a way to live their own lives through encounters with Van Gogh, stray cat Kiiro (Komuai) and other unique cats? The limited first edition of this film comes in a 2-disc set including the main Blu-ray disc and a bonus Blu-ray disc. The special features include a making-of featurette full of must-see shots for fans, the complete music video of the idol Sunny's song "Romance Crossing," a preview of the completion of the film, and the first day of the film's stage greeting, as well as a wide variety of other content. There are 6 region codes. Typically, DVD players sold in one region is compatible only with DVD titles that are encoded for that region.
