Description

[Machine Translation] Set in the closed-off countryside of the Heisei era, this is a story of a summer of pale youth, in which a boy awakens to his own identity and the boys surrounding him. The film features the fresh performances of young actors Shunta Sono and Kodai Fujimoto, including lead actor Tobiu Araki, against a backdrop of green scenery. Popular actor Ken-arashi Abe gives a monstrous performance as a "perverted man. --A young boy from the countryside in the Heisei era, Futoshi Mishima (Araki Tobiwa) is bullied by a group led by his classmate Kirino Makoto (Sono Shunta), who belongs to the basketball club, because of his long hair and slouching body. Mishima, however, has no way to resist and finds solace in her daily routine of transforming herself into a "kawaii" (cute) girl by wearing lipstick and other women's clothing behind her back. One day, while Mishima is on the rooftop, he witnesses Kirino trying to put on her lips the lipstick she had lost before... Kirino, who hides her true self from the world, Taro Yumeno (Kodai Fujimoto), a member of the bullying group, and Yanagida (Koran Abe), a newly appointed social studies teacher, are all concerned about Mishima's "excesses. Mishima's awakening to his own identity triggers Kirino, Yumeno, and Yanagida to gradually reveal their "hidden feelings. The story of their summer of pale adolescence, in search of a place where they can be their "true selves" somewhere in this world, begins here.
