Description

[Machine Translation] Yukio Hasebe, a new junior high school student, was depressed. His village had been divided into two groups, the locals and the new-towners, in the aftermath of urban development. The children from the new town boasted of their western-style latrines, while the locals wondered about the existence of key children. During the summer vacation, Yukio and nine other boys and girls from both groups attended a forest school. That night, a sudden landslide swallows their lodgings, killing all the adults. The village is lined with a mountain of God and a forbidding mountain where natural disasters are a constant occurrence, but the development faction ignored the commandment and built there. The nine stunned people desperately aim for the divine mountain. As they cross difficult terrain, frightened by the darkness, they begin to understand each other.... Friendship formed in the midst of extreme conditions. And the power to "think and live by oneself" that they learned. A story of compassion to be passed on to the next generation.

There are 6 region codes. Typically, DVD players sold in one region is compatible only with DVD titles that are encoded for that region.

HD DVD

HD DVDs titles are playable only on HD DVD players. They are not playalbe on conventional DVD players or Blu-ray players. On the other hand, Twin Format disc has a layer that is playable also on conventional DVD players. Such titles are indicated as "Format: HD DVD Twin Format" in item details page. *We'll add accurate information on regional encoding as they become available, but for the time-being, please assume that HD DVD titles available at CDJapan are encoded for Region-2.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.

SACD (Super Audio CD)
