Description

[Machine Translation] Two souls wandering in the depths of despair. A story of longing, born of a terrible collision. The title "J005311" is based on the name of a star that shone brightly again after two stars that were floating in the air without shining collided with each other with what could be called miraculous probability. The limited dialogue and inarticulate dialogue between Kazuei Nomura, the new actor who plays Kanzaki, and Hiroki Kono, who plays Yamamoto in his directorial debut, resonate throughout the screen. The film, which is a projection of the filmmaker's own life, painfully depicts the loneliness of a man who is left behind by the world and wanders around unable to find his place in it, and was unanimously awarded the Grand Prix at the 44th Pia Film Festival. The film was subsequently screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival, where it attracted a great deal of attention. --Kanzaki (Kazuei Nomura) goes out on the town with an expression of deep thought. When a cab fails to catch him, he sits on the side of the road with his back rounded and witnesses a purse-snatching scene over the road. Kanzaki, who had been running with all his heart, calls out to Yamamoto ( Hiroki Kono ), the purse snatcher, and asks him to give him a ride to a certain place in exchange for 1 million yen. Yamamoto reluctantly agrees, despite his disbelief, and their strange drive begins. The two lonely people spend a distorted time together amidst an awkward and heavy atmosphere. Where will this journey lead them?
