Description

[Machine Translation] Gunmen go on a rampage over gold coins! A spectacular western co-starring Cooper and Lancaster! Gary Cooper and Burt Lancaster co-star in this spectacular western. Directed by Robert Aldrich, a master of the action genre, the film depicts the struggle of men for riches with a gritty touch. In addition to Cesar Romero and Ernest Borgnine in supporting roles, Charles Bronson (under the name Buchinsky) appears as a ruffian in his early days. The film was shot by Ernest Laszlo, who won an Academy Award for "Ship of Fools. --In Mexico in 1866, men from the U.S. were pouring in, hoping to take advantage of the upheaval and make a profit. One of them, Ben Train, a former Confederate officer, decides to team up with Joe Ellin, a former farmer he meets along the way. Hired by a French nobleman of the ruling Maximilian Czarist faction, the two were assigned to escort Countess Marie Duval on her way to Veracruz. However, a fierce battle ensues when three million dollars in gold coins are hidden in the Countess's carriage. The film was newly mastered using a full HD scan from the original negative. The dubbed voice of the TV broadcast version (the "Sunday Night Show" version) is included for the first time. The dubbed voice is the original voice and Japanese subtitles for the parts that are not included. The first audio commentary by film director Alex Cox ("Repo Man") *Not included on DVD or previous Blu-ray releases. The complete Japanese dubbed version of the film can be played back. The dubbed Japanese version of the film can be played back in the same way as the TV broadcast version by skipping the parts without the dubbed voice.
