Wayne) in command, decides to break through the enemy and attack the Confederate supply depot at Newton Station in order to turn the tide of the war. Major Kendall ( W. Holden ), a military doctor, is assigned to Marlow's unit, but he is not at ease with Marlow, who is strict about military affairs. In addition, a Southern girl, Hannah ( C.
