Description

[Machine Translation] A literary coming-of-age epic based on Yojiro Ishizaka's famous newspaper novel, featuring a cast of Nikkatsu youth stars including Sayuri Yoshinaga, Hideki Takahashi, and Mitsuo Hamada. Directed by Katsumi Nishikawa. --The story is about an eccentric girl named Terasawa Arako (Yoshinaga Sayuri) who transfers to Sadashuku Girls' High School, a traditional school located in the castle town of Tokyo, and is forced to leave because of a love affair. Rumors abound that she was expelled from her previous school due to a love affair, which arouses the animosity of her classmates. Shinko comes to her homeroom teacher, Yukiko Shimazaki ( Izumi Ashikawa ), with a love letter. The letter is full of misspellings and female characters that resemble a man's handwriting... It is clearly not the writing of a college student, and Shinko insists that it must be a prank by her classmates. Angered by the students' despicable behavior, Yukiko consults with the school doctor, Numata ( Nitani Hideaki ), who happens to be there at the same time. Numata advises Yukiko, who is furious to get to the bottom of the matter, not to stir things up. Numata, who secretly loves Yukiko, is worried that she will always have a positive attitude. A few days later, Yukiko tells her students about the love letter, but she is met with strong opposition, and this eventually leads to a huge commotion that shakes the entire town... 吉永小百合、高橋英樹、浜田光夫らを中心に日活青春スター総出演で贈る、石坂洋次郎の名作新聞小説を原作とした文芸青春巨編。監督は西河克己。――城下町に位置し、伝統を重んじる貞淑女子高校に転校してきた寺沢新子 (吉永小百合)は一風変わった娘であった。前の学校を恋愛問題で退学になったという噂が飛び交い、級友たちの反感を買う。新子が担任の島崎雪子 (芦川いづみ)のもとへ一通のラブレターを持ってやって来た。誤字だらけの文章、男の字に似せた女文字・・・明らかに大学生の文章ではないその手紙に、新子はクラスメイトのいたずらに違いないと主張する。生徒たちの卑劣な行動に怒りをあらわにした雪子は、丁度そこに来合わせた校医の沼田 (二谷英明)に相談した。真相究明にいきり立つ雪子に、事を荒立てるなと忠告する沼田。ひそかに雪子を愛する沼田は、彼女がいつまでも前向きな姿勢でいることを心配していた。数日後、雪子はラブレターの一件を生徒たちに切り出すも、強い反発にあってしまい、そしてそれはいつしか町全体を揺るがす大騒動にまで発展してしまう・・・。ピクチャーディスク仕様。

There are 6 region codes. Typically, DVD players sold in one region is compatible only with DVD titles that are encoded for that region.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.
