Description

[Machine Translation] Still Living The vivid cry of a boy who has lost sight of love. He meets lonely people and sees hope at the end of despair. --Yuta ( Shiratori Haruto ), a 13-year-old junior high school student living in an orphanage, is bullied both at the orphanage and at school, and is always alone. There is no adult who understands him. He spends his days with only the emotional support of his mother, Rika ( Marika Matsumoto ), who comes to pick him up, but when she never shows up, he grows increasingly anxious. One day, Yuta learns of his mother's whereabouts by chance, and with the sole intention of meeting her, he escapes from the facility and visits her at her apartment in the countryside. When he finally reunites with his mother, she is dependent on a man who lives with her and leads a self-defeating life, and asks him to return to the institution. In despair, Yuta escapes the facility staff and arrives at the beach, where he meets Sakamoto (Odagiri Joe), a homeless man living in a light truck. Sakamoto accepts him without asking any questions. The two of them spend their nights together while earning a little money. One day, he becomes acquainted with Shiori ( Suzuharuka Kawashima ), a girl who visits Sakamoto. Shiori grew up in a wealthy family in an upscale residential area nearby, but she has a lot of pain that she can't tell anyone about, and as if to fill her emptiness, she engages in dating as a form of assistance. Yuta is attracted to Shiori, who has the same loneliness as him but is also kind-hearted. As Yuta spends time with these two lonely people, he begins to see Sakamoto, who lives freely, as a father figure he has never met. Yuta promises to go to Nagoya with Sakamoto once the light truck is repaired. However, these peaceful days come to an end due to an incident.

それでも生きる 愛を見失った少年の鮮烈な叫び。孤独を抱えた人々と出会い、絶望の果てに希望を見つめる。――児童養護施設で暮らす13歳の中学生、優太 (白鳥晴都)は、施設でも学校でもいじめられ、いつも一人ぼっち。自分を理解してくれる大人もいない。母・梨花 (松本まりか)が迎えに来てくれることだけを心の支えに毎日を過ごしているが、一向に現れず不安を募らせていく。そんなある日、偶然母の居場所を知った優太は、会いたい一心で施設を抜け出し、地方に住む母のアパートを訪ねる。ようやく再会するも、同居する男に依存し自堕落な生活を送る母は、優太に施設へ戻ってほしいと頼むのだった。絶望した優太は、施設の職員の追手を逃れ、当てもなく辿り着いた海辺で、軽トラで暮らすホームレスの男・坂本 (オダギリジョー)に出会う。何も聞かず自分を受け入れてくれる坂本。二人でわずかな金銭を稼ぎながら寝食をともに過ごす。ある日、坂本の元を訪れる少女・詩織 (川島鈴遥)とも顔見知りになる。詩織は、近くの高級住宅地に住み裕福な家庭に育つも、誰にも言えない苦しみを抱え、空虚感を埋めるかのように援助交際をしていた。優太は自分と同じ寂しさを抱えながらも心優しい詩織に惹かれていく。孤独を抱えた二人と過ごしていく中で、優太は自由気ままに生きる坂本をいつしか会ったことのない父親の姿と重ね合わせるようになる。そして優太は、軽トラの修理が終わったら坂本と一緒に名古屋に行くことを約束する。しかし、そんな穏やかな日々もある事件によって終わりを告げる。

HD DVD

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.

DVD-Audios are playable only on DVD-Audio players and DVD players that are compatible with DVD-Audios (to find out for sure, consult the manual of your DVD player, or look for DVD-Audio logo). DVD-Audios are not playable on regular DVD players or CD players.

SACD (Super Audio CD)

SACDs are playable only on SACD players, and will not play on regular CD players. On the other hand, SACD Hybrid disc has a layer that is playable also on regular CD payers. Such titles are indicated as "Format: SACD-Hybrid" in item details page.
